Many times we love to blame the adversary, but quite often it is our own mouth that blocks our blessings from the Lord. We have listed all the blessing blockers for you so you can learn them and the bible verses that go with them. Your Heavenly Father wants you to know this so you can ask for forgiveness, so he may be able to give you your blessings if it is in his will to do so.
1. Blessing Blocker :Disobedience of our Heavenly Father’s leagdings when he has a vessel tell you to do something or he tells you.
Deuteronomy 23 1:14 says, “God promises us that “If we obey the voice of the Lord” then ALL these blessings will come upon us and overtake us. (Go read it for yourselves, the blessings promised to us are huge!)Blessing blocker; use of words; This means that you want to always speak in positive ways to each other, Our Heavenly Father and Jesus as well. When you speak in positive ways your Heavenly Father is very pleased with you. If you speak in a negative way, you will miss out on blessings your Heavenly Father wants you to have. Our tounge can be our worst enemy, destroy us faster than anything. If you talk negative by accident and ask for forgiveness right away he will forgive you, but if you do not right away he will not forgive you until you do. If you talk nasty or mean that is negative, if you tease someone meanly that is negative, name calling is negative. There is a lot of negative talk on earth, and it should be stoped. There will be a verse at the end of each blocker that states what it is about.
Proverbs 18:20 AMP reveals this truth: “A man’s [moral][/moral] self shall be filled with the fruit of his mouth, and with the consequence of his words he must be satisfied [whether good=” or=” evil=”][/whether]”
2. Blessing Blocker; Pride; Being able to admit our faults and wrongdoings are what enables us to get back up and keep going when we fall. We sometimes allow pride to keep us down way longer than we have to be. I know I have been there plenty of times. Remember, this is a sin on our list of sins.
Proverbs 24:16 says “The righteous may fall seven times but still get up, but the wicked will stumble into trouble.”
3. Blessing Blocker: Offense; Are you offended often?
Being offended is rooted in PRIDE. You get offended when YOU are passed over for something, or not invited to something, or talked down to, even not being taken seriously.
Luke 7:23;And blessed is the one who is not offended by me.”
4. Blessing Blocker: Being stingy; Lawd Jesus Golden Divas open up that closet that is filled with clothes that you know you can’t wear anymore. Let it go and give your unworn clothes to someone who can wear them and is in need of some clothes. Help someone out financially who is in need of a financial blessing.
Did you know God’s financial wisdom is fascinating? It’s literally the exact opposite of what the world teaches.
Proverbs 11:24-25 says, shows us the key to becoming wealthy.
“Give freely and become wealthier; be stingy and lose everything. The generous will prosper.
5. Blessing Blocker; Self Doubt; Remember the old saying “You never know until you try” Sometimes we have our minds programmed for failure and we expect the worse before we even try.
Think of how many talents, dreams, goals, businesses, gifts, jobs, relationships and so much more go to the grave with people. Fear is a roadblock stopping us from experiencing the life for which we were created to live. When we have doubt, we are double-minded. We need to remain constant in belief no matter what is going on. No matter how our bad situation looks ladies and Gentleman. We need to decide if we are BELIEVERS or DOUBTERS. Recognizing this will help Your Heavenly Father restore your faith in areas you are stumbling. Do not be ashamed to confess this to Your Heavenly Father. It’s necessary to move forward.
James 1-8 says that “a double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.”.
6. Blessing Blocker Holding on to the past.
Living in the past and refusing to move on only hinders growth and blessings. While you’re trying to hold on to a relationship that was never meant to be, Golden Divas let that no good man alone. I don’t care how fine he looks, has to go. Why? Because God is trying to make room for the right one to come into your life. This is just one example, there are other things your Heavenly Father would want you to leave go of to make room for other things and other people.
Matthew 11:22-25 tells us that if we don’t forgive others, then our faith is hindered. And that we must forgive others so that our Father will forgive our sins too.
7. Blessing Blocker; Unforgiveness; I told you I will be back for this one, later on in the post. Here we are, ladies and Gentlemen it’s a tough one!!
“Whenever you kneel down to pray, if you have something against anyone, forgive so that your Father in heaven may forgive you of your wrongdoings.”Think of it as having a scab and just when the scab starts to heal, you peel it. That’s what unforgiveness does. It stops your healing process. Forgive everyone quickly, do it now, and move on.
Mark 11:25 basically says, Being able to forgive is so important. Not just because God commands it, but for OUR WELL-BEING as well. Unforgiveness emotionally ties you to a person for as long as you are carrying a grudge. Now ya’ll know we need to let some people go, emotionally, physically and psychologically.
8. Blessing Blocker; covering up your sin;“Cover your sins” could mean you are cheating on your spouse ( I know my People that are married are not doing that) and you keep it hidden. I think we’d all agree that if you’re doing that you are obviously not going to prosper.Or we often cover our sins in our own minds and hearts by not owning up to them and taking responsibility for them.See how Adam passed the blame onto God? The woman whom YOU gave me Lord…like it was God’s fault for giving him that woman!More practically, perhaps you covered your sin today when you started bashing your boss to your coworkers today, but then justified it because your boss is greedy and doesn’t pay you enough, or you feel like you haven’t gotten the praise you think you deserve. Or you reason with those around you, that “It’s not my fault our money is tight at my house, my boss didn’t give me that raise he said he would. Don’t cover up your sin, don’t justify your actions or your situation, just repent.
Proverbs 28:13 says, “He who covers his sins will not prosper, But whoever confesses and forsakes them will have mercy.”
Genesis 3:12 says when Adam ate the fruit after God told them not too. He covered his sin by saying, “The woman, whom You gave me, she gave me the fruit from the tree and I ate it.”
Own up to it, take the blame, change, and live free!
9. Blessing Blocker; Fear;
Fear is the opposite of faith. It is a spirit that is not of God that gets in the way of you possessing all things that pertains to life and your blessings from our Heavenly Father. Fear keeps you stuck and stagnated.
Pause here for a moment and just think of all the things that you are afraid of – fear of the future because it is unknown and it requires faith; fear of failure and the criticisms that comes with it; fear of being hurt again so you avoid getting into a relationship; fear of commitment so you never possess your good thing [Proverbs 18:22] and never get married; fear of going to an interview so you remain stuck in a job that you hate. But know that God did not give you a spirit to fear.
“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, [[afraid, or scared] but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” [sound mind, good judgement] – 1 Timothy 1:7
10. Blessing Blocker; Giving up hope to easily
There is a quote by Vince Lombardi that says, “Winners never quit and quitters never win.” If you are going to get your blessings, your possessions and inheritance from God, you cannot be so quick to give up as soon as the least of trials come your way. When your faith is being tested, there are only two options available to you, either you give up and accept the outcome, or you push your way through the struggles until you overcome the trial and receive your blessings.
When you want something bad enough you must persevere and endure the hardship like a good soldier. Recall the story of Daniel chapter 10. The Bible says, Daniel went into morning for Jerusalem and he fasted and prayed for twenty one days. God sent an angel from the first day Daniel open his mouth and prayed but there was a wicked prince over the region of Persia who was an agent of Satan. There was an intense warfare between the angel of the Lord and the prince of Persia which caused a delay in Daniel’s blessing.
Daniel never gave up but persisted in prayed, kept his hope in God until finally, the answer came to him. You want heaven’s door unlocked and to open wide with your possessions, then perseverance is your key.
Romans: 12:2 2 Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.
Comment; You know from prior lessons that our bodies are the temple of Our Heavenly Father. The Holy Spirit lives within us if we are a child of Our Heavenly Father. He will guide you, tell you which way to go, how to do something, and when. The Holy Spirit is the helper of Our Heavenly Father and Jesus, Remember. If you change your ways of thinking and conversing with The Holy Spirit, Your Heavenly Father and Jesus you will have a better life and have more peace, and they will keep you out of danger if you let them. It would be best for all of us to turn to Our Heavenly Father, ask for forgiveness, and give our whole lives to him. Let him lead our lives so we can get the blessings he wants you to have. If you keep blocking them, you will not get the blessings that your Heavenly Father wants us to have. If you really go over the lesson again and pay attention, you may start to think, hmmm, have I done any of this. If you realize sometimes you can be your own worst enemy you can live a better life, and even in eternity when you realize you did a mistake. It does not matter how young you are, if you realize what we have been teaching you the past year. Start thinking what might be in your heart, if it seems bad, ask for forgiveness, and Your Heavenly Father will take it away. As him to come into your heart and lead you, and he will send The Holy Spirit to help you.
Closing Prayer; Heavenly Father we thank you for sending vessels to our online Ministry to let us know about blessing blockers, and that our tongues can be our own worst enemies at times as you have stated a lot in your word. We pray that the people that read this will understand it and refrain from blocking their own blessings. That they will ask for forgiveness and you will take it away and give them blessings if it is in your will. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
We can’t earn salvation; we are saved by God’s grace when we have faith in His Son, Jesus Christ. All you have to do is believe you are a sinner, that Christ died for your sins, and ask His forgiveness. Then turn from your sins—that’s called repentance. Jesus Christ knows you and loves you. What matters to Him is the attitude of your heart, your honesty. We suggest praying the following prayer to accept Christ as your Savior:
“Dear Heavenly Father, I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died for my sin and that you raised Him to life. I want to trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord, from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.”
