Galations 3:28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
Amos 5:24 But let justice roll on like a river, righteousness like a never-failing stream!
Isaiah 40 40:4 Every valley shall be raised up, every mountain and hill made low; the rough ground shall become level, the rugged places a plain.
40:5 And the glory of the Lord will be revealed, and all people will see it together. For the mouth of the Lord has spoken.
Dr. Martin Luther King Sr. Inspired his son to go into the Ministry. Who was Martin Luther King Jr. He became a baptist Minister. He had a very strong faith in the Lord. The Lord also called him to become a civil rights leader. Both of them were from the state of Georgia in the U.S. Martin Luther King, Jr. became a co-pastor of Ebenezer with his father, Rev. Martin Luther King, Sr., know as “Daddy” King. He remained in that position until his death in 1968.
From 1954 until 1960, Martin Luther King Jr.was the pastor of the Dexter Avenue King Memorial Baptist Church, the only church where MLK pastored and the site where he began his Civil Rights activism.
Emboldened by the success of the Montgomery Bus Boycott, in 1957 he and other civil rights activists—most of them fellow ministers—founded the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC), a group committed to achieving full equality for African Americans through nonviolent protest. Back in the day Ministers were listened to more than anything else. They were recognized as Our Heavenly Father’s vessels. They were often asked about what they felt about certain subjects. They often tried to steer the country right. They did a great job doing so. Then the church separated from Government, and that is what caused what it is like today. It was formalized in a 1905 law providing for the separation of church and state, that is, the separation of religion from political power. The reason for this was because the churches saw the chance of them being destroyed by political power, so the two of them separated. Even during the time while Martin Luther King was around they were still working together.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s favorite hymn: Take my hand precious Lord;
Precious Lord, take my hand
Lead me on, let me stand
I’m tired, I’m weak, I’m lone
Through the storm, through the night
Lead me on to the light
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
When my way grows drear precious Lord linger near
When my light is almost gone
Hear my cry, hear my call
Hold my hand lest I fall
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
When the darkness appears and the night draws near
And the day is past and gone
At the river I stand
Guide my feet, hold my hand
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
Precious Lord, take my hand
Lead me on, let me stand
I’m tired, I’m weak, I’m lone
Through the storm, through the night
Lead me on to the light
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
