Raynette K. Weiss and Assistant Pastor Jessie K. Weiss. We are two of Our Heavenly Father’s vessels. What is the meaning of Our Father in Heaven. Tuesday March 4, 2025.

Matthew 23:9 And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven.

James 1:17. “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to …

Matthew 5:48 KJV. Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.

Father in Heaven” from the Lord’s Prayer signifies that we are addressing our prayers to God, who is considered our heavenly Father, implying a close, personal relationship with a divine being who is above and beyond us, in a spiritual realm known as Heaven; it is a way of acknowledging God as the ultimate parent figure we can turn to in praye

  • Direct Address:
It establishes a direct line of communication with God, allowing us to approach him with familiarity and trust.
  • Fatherly Love:
“Father” represents God’s love, care, and guidance towards humanity, similar to a father’s role in a family.
  • Heavenly Presence:
“In Heaven” indicates that God is not limited to the physical world, but exists in a higher spiritual realm.

Here is how it breaks down. “Our Father in heaven” is
teaching us whom to address our prayers to—the Father. “Hallowed be your name” is telling us to worship God, and to praise Him for who He.
  • This phrase reminds us and our children that we approach an affectionate Father and yet one to whom reverence is due. Our task in prayer is to launch ourselves familiarly into the presence of the God who loves us as his own children and yet not to come glibly. We come with reverence because there is none like him
  • The Lord’s Prayer, also known as the Our Father, is important because it teaches us how to pray, how to worship, and how to live in relationship with God. It also helps us to develop a longing for union with God.

Closing Prayer: Our Father in Heaven, we come before You with humble hearts, recognizing Your sovereignty and love. Hallowed be Your name, may Your kingdom come, and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Guide us in our daily lives, provide for our needs, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive others. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. In the name of Our lord and savior we pray.

Lord help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and I know you will answer my prayers. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
