Raynette K. Weiss and Associate Pastor Jessie K. Weiss. We are two of Our Heavenly Father’s vessels. Easter Monday April 21, 2025.

  • Matthew 28:5-6:
An angel reassures the women that Jesus has risen as he foretold, and they are instructed to go and see the place where he lay
  • John 20:1-10:
Mary Magdalene’s discovery of the empty tomb and her encounter with Jesus, leading to Peter’s visit and the realization of his resurrection.

Lesson:

Monday is the second day of Eastertide or Octave. In some areas it is a holiday, and some do business on that day. It is a Christian holiday commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ, often celebrated with traditions like Easter egg hunts or egg rolling, and is a public holiday in some countries. Jesus remained on Earth for 40 days after his resurrection, appearing to his followers and fulfilling the Great Commission. He also ascended into heaven after these 40 days. The Feast of the Ascension is celebrated on the 40th day of Easter, always a Thursday. What is Easter Monday all about? It has religious significance, because it is the day after Christians believe the messiah returned to earth.

Closing Prayer:

Lord, we thank you for the victory of Easter, for the joy of knowing that death does not have the final word. On this Monday, as we return to our daily routines, help us to continue to live out the message of your resurrection. Fill us with your Holy Spirit, renewing our spirits and strengthening our faith. May we be a light in the darkness, reflecting your love and compassion to those around us. We ask this in the name of Jesus, your risen Lord.

Our lord and savior we pray. Please forgive me of my sins againt you, please come into my heart. By the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for Saving me.
