Opening Hymn:
1 Eternal Father, strong to save,
Whose arm doth bond the restless wave,
Who bids the mighty ocean deep
Its own appointed limits keep;
O hear us when we cry to Thee
For those in peril on the sea.
Upon the terrace dark and rude,
And bid its angry tumult cease,
And give for wild confusion peace;
O hear us when we cry to Thee
For those in peril on the sea.
3 O Trinity of love and pow’r,
Thy children shield in danger’s hour;
From rock and tempest, fire, and foe,
Protect them where-so-e’er they go;
Thus, evermore shall rise to Thee
Glad hymns of praise from land and sea.
Opening Prayer: Heavenly Father, we pray that the words below help people understand what they were studying all week long, or get a better understanding. We also hope that this is pleasing to you. We ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Sermon for Sunday January 24, 2021
Things Paul made clear that talking has to be understood, and no gifts that you cannot understand is not any good. Tounges for example. God understands it, and there is a purpose.
Paul was thinking when he met with a group of people, which were the corinthians. He was actually talking about the art of tithing. Tithing was used for helping people in need, and paying church bills. Other things include food, housing, etc. Paul is trying also to teach how important it is to tithe. What is so important, is that if you give to the lord if you are a child of his, he will give you back what you need and much more. Paul was going to places that were poor, so he sent people to places to give money until there was enough.
Paul went into a meeting and personal issues were being discussed. He also went into how important tithing was, and to give to the lord to help the churches. In return the lord will give you back much more if you are a child of God and tithe. Paul praised God and noted that God is a deity of compassion who also seeks to help all those who are dealing with troubles in life.
Paul began with an explanation saying that he was writing to tell them how much he loved them. He felt as though his previous visit may have made the people at Corinth sad and he wanted them to know that it was not his intention with this letter.
Discussing false teachers who have introduced themselves through letters of recommendations. Paul was saying that he did not need any letter of recommendation because God had blessed him due to his labors. As a result, Paul himself could appeal to them as the best proof of the God’s Word.
Closing Hymn: Blessed Assurance by Elevation Worship
Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine
O what a foretaste of glory divine
Heir of salvation, purchase of God
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood
Perfect submission, all is at rest
I in my Savior am happy and blessed
Watching and waiting, looking above
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long
This is my story, this is my song
Praising my Savior all the day long
Oh what a Savior, wonderful Jesus
Oh what a Savior, wonderful Jesus
Oh what a Savior, wonderful Jesus
Oh what a Savior, wonderful Jesus
Death could not hold You, You are victorious
Praise to the risen King
Death could not hold You, You are victorious
Praise to the risen King
Oh what a Savior, wonderful Jesus
Oh what a Savior, wonderful Jesus
Oh what a Savior, wonderful Jesus
Oh what a Savior
Wonderful Savior

Salvation Prayer for those who are already children of God and want a stronger faith, and those that wish to become children of god.
“Dear God, I want to be a part of your family. You said in Your Word that if I acknowledge that You raised Jesus from the dead, and that I accept Him as my Lord and Savior, I would be saved. So God, I now say that I believe You raised Jesus from the dead and that He is alive and well. I accept Him now as my personal Lord and Savior. I accept my salvation from sin right now.
I am now saved. Jesus is my Lord. Jesus is my Savior. Thank you, Father God, for forgiving me, saving me, and giving me eternal life with You. Amen!”
