Opening Hymn: Running the race by Dalas Holm
I’m running the race
I’m running the race to win
I’m running the race
I’m running the race to win
Sometimes I felt like giving up
And falling down within
But I’m still running the race
I’m running the race to win
I started walking before I could run
I slowly moved from place to place
But I got stronger, day after day
And now I’m running in the race
And I’m still running the race
I’m running the race to win
I’m running the race
I’m running the race to win
Sometimes I felt like giving up
And falling down within
But I’m still running the race
I’m running the race to win
It’s almost over, the end is in sight
I’ll cross the finish line by grace
It’s gone so quickly, and still it seems
That I have always run this race.
Opening Prayer: Heavenly Father, I pray that the words written on this page will help the people that read them, so that they will understand what Paul was discussing, and a bit of what Revelations was about. We pray that Jesus will help them do this. We ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Sermon for Sunday January 17, 2021
Paul once said that he was a man, but he gave all that up to be with Jesus and Our Heavenly Father. He wished to minister to all the people. The feelings of the flesh need to be put at bay, so you can be a good minister and to get close to Jesus and The Heavenly Father. Paul began by talking about the many great things God did in ancient days. He mentioned Exodus specifically with examples like God leading His people out of Egypt, giving them water and manna in the desert, and dividing the Red Sea for them to cross.
ordinances as determined by God. Paul said in this chapter that Christ should be the head of all men, and a man is the head of every woman. God is also the head of Jesus Christ. This means that there is a structure that should be followed.
Paul told the people in 1 Corinthians Chapter 12 that they were once Gentiles going about by worshiping idols and straying away from God. However, it was through the Holy Spirit that they proclaimed that Christ is Lord. It was only through the Spirit that they were able to do this.
It is important to have a strong faith in God and believe that you can do anything that is supposed to be done according to his plan.
Paul explained how important love is in a person’s life. He said that even though someone has many gifts, without love they are somewhat useless. You can have marvelous gifts used to help people and bring joy to those who need it, but without love, your works will be useless.
Paul expounding on the difference between the gift of prophecy and the gift of speaking in tongues. He went further to explain that no gift was of any value if it could not be understood by those listening. Paul makes it clear that there must be order in the church.
Note: Just to let people know, you do not always have to go to church to get close to the lord. It is very nice to go, but if you cannot, read it online. But to remember, we do not have to be in a church, as you can see from the following. In the bible in the book of Revelations, it states that the churches that are already up and have been running may stay. But the lord at this point would rather people go out into the community and talk to people about him and his word. Now, online is not a church, it is talking to people, but not face to face. Just thought I should bring that to your attention. There is nothing wrong with church gatherings. But now you are supposed to be out talking to one another. A church is according to Revelations, is walls, and that it is time to save as many souls as you can of all ages.
Closing Prayer: Heavenly Father, we pray that although many people do not understand the book of Revelations, but could understand what is written above in the note. That they understand what Paul was also trying to teach. That they also start to get closer to you and walk with you, and get the peace and joy that everyone can get being a child of God. We also pray for people that are not a child of God, and will become by saying the prayer below. Those that are already a child of God can use it to get a stronger faith. We ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
“Dear God, I want to be a part of your family. You said in Your Word that if I acknowledge that You raised Jesus from the dead, and that I accept Him as my Lord and Savior, I would be saved. So God, I now say that I believe You raised Jesus from the dead and that He is alive and well. I accept Him now as my personal Lord and Savior. I accept my salvation from sin right now.
I am now saved. Jesus is my Lord. Jesus is my Savior. Thank you, Father God, for forgiving me, saving me, and giving me eternal life with You. Amen!”
Closing Hymn: The prize worth fighting for by Jamie Kimmett
Lately, been down so low
My faith seems to come and go
Some days, father, I don’t know
How did my love grow cold?
But You help me see again
This world is not the end
Jesus, my sweetest friend
You’re worth the suffering
Your love is my reward
Your love is my reward
When every day is just another struggle
And every choice is an act of war
Gotta pray, gotta press on
To the prize worth fighting for
When it feels like I’ll never make it
When my heart’s crying out for more
Gotta pray, gotta press on
To the prize worth fighting for
The battle rages on
But your promise keeps me strong
I know I’ll win this race
With your unfailing grace
Your love is my reward
Your love is my reward
When every day is just another struggle
And every choice is an act of war
Gotta pray, gotta press on
To the prize worth fighting for
When it feels like I’ll never make it
When my heart’s crying out for more
Gotta pray, gotta press on
To the prize worth fighting for
Your love is my reward
The prize worth fighting for
Jesus, you’re worth my all
Your love is my reward
Your love is my reward
When every day is just another struggle (Every day)
And every choice is an act of war
Gotta pray, gotta press on (I gotta pray)
To the prize worth fighting for
When it feels like I’ll never make it (When it feels like I’ll never make it, oh-oh)
When my heart’s crying out for more
Gotta pray, gotta press on
To the prize worth fighting for (Prize worth fighting for)
Every day is just another struggle (Every day)
Every choice is an act of war (Every choice, every choice)
I gotta pray, gotta pray (I gotta pray, I gotta pray)
I gotta pray, gotta press on
To the prize worth fighting for.
Benediction: Go and tell friends, family and anyone else about all the weeks studying through the ministry. Remember also to spend time with your lord and savior, and read the bible and relax with the lord. He will then give you peace and joy.
