Raynette K. Weiss Ministries invites you to this online service about Exodus chapters 9 to 14. Sunday September 19, 2021.

Opening Hymn; Pharaoh story by Andrew Loyd Webber. Pharaoh, he was a powerful man
With the ancient world in the palm of his hand
To all intents and purposes he
Was Egypt with a capital E
Whatever he did he was showered with praise
If he cracked a joke then you chortled for days
No-one had rights or a vote but the king
In fact you might say he was fairly right-wing
When Pharaoh’s around, then you get down on the ground
If you ever find yourself near Rameses — get down on your knees.
Down at the other end of the scale
Joseph is still doing time in jail
For even though he is in with the guards
A lifetime in prison seems quite on the cards
But if my analysis of the position is right
At the end of the tunnel there’s a glimmer of light
For all of a sudden indescribable things
Have shattered the sleep of both peasants and kings
Strange as it seems, there’s been a run of crazy dreams
And a man who can interpret could go far — could become a star.

Opening Prayer; Heavenly Father, it is most wonderful to realise that through the ten terrible plagues of Egypt, which caused such hardship for so many, we can trace Your long-suffering mercy towards fallen man and Your perfect plan of redemption for those that will listen to Your voice, obey Your instructions, turn from their wicked ways, and believe on You. Thank You that in the past, as well as in this present time, it is not Your will that any should perish but that all should come to repentance – turn from their sin and trust in Christ for the forgiveness of sin. Praise Your holy name, AMEN.

Sermon;
Hello everyone, this past week we talked about Pharaoh in our bible studies during the week. It was Exodus chapters 9 to 14. The story is a good example of what not to do to the Lord. Here is what was talked about in the bible studies this week. We hope you learned from it, and if you did not do the lessons, I would suggest you go back and look them over. It is a good way to learn what not to do to your Heavenly Father, and it is also a good example of what happens when you do. Exodus is one of the books of the Torah. We are studying the Torah until we finish it, and then we are going to have an interesting miniseries of testimonies of testimonies on how God helps people for one week, then we will go back to the bible in the books of the Torah, and you know everyone that reads these lessons we give contact information, so when we are done the Torah, we would like to know where you would want to learn about next in the bible. Now, lets go over this sermon, and learn from it.

God sent judgments on Pharaoh and Egypt for holding the Hebrews captive.
The Lord had given Pharaoh a hardened heart in order for the Lord God to show Egypt and the world His signs and power. Specifically, he showed his signs to Pharaoh so that Israel will tell everything they witnessed to their children in every generation. The Lord commanded Moses to tell the Israelites to borrow jewels of silver and gold from their Egyptian neighbors. The Egyptians had respect for the Israelites now and obliged to give them gold and silver. In addition, Moses was a very great man in the land of Egypt and in the sight of all of Pharaoh’s servants. The Bible’s first mention of the ritual of Passover. In Israel, Passover became a yearly festival to celebrate the events described. Later, Exodus explains in greater detail how Passover should be performed.
The Lord told Moses to dedicate the firstborn of the humans and the animals to Him. Moses, in turn, told his people to remember the day when they were freed from slavery. He told them that God would lead them to the land of milk and honey just like He had led them out of Egypt. Where the book of Exodus gets its’ official name. The Pharaoh was not officially done with his change of hearts. Even though his son was slain in the firstborn plagues, he had not a change of heart, maybe out of anger and frustration.

Closing Hymn; The song about Moses and Miriam sung by Moses and Miriam in the bible.
“I will sing to the LORD, for He is highly exalted;
The horse and its rider He has hurled into the sea.
2 “The LORD is my strength and song,
And He has become my salvation;
This is my God, and I will praise Him;
My father’s God, and I will extol Him.
3 “The LORD is a warrior;
The LORD is His name.
4 “Pharaoh’s chariots and his army He has cast into the sea;
And the choicest of his officers are drowned in the Red Sea.
5 “The deeps cover them;
They went down into the depths like a stone.
6 “Your right hand, O LORD, is majestic in power,
Your right hand, O LORD, shatters the enemy.
7 “And in the greatness of Your excellence You overthrow those who rise up against You;
You send forth Your burning anger, and it consumes them as chaff.
8 “At the blast of Your nostrils the waters were piled up,
The flowing waters stood up like a heap;
The deeps were congealed in the heart of the sea.
9 “The enemy said, ‘I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil;
My desire shall be gratified against them;
I will draw out my sword, my hand will destroy them.’
10 “You blew with Your wind, the sea covered them;
They sank like lead in the mighty waters.
11 “Who is like You among the gods, O LORD?
Who is like You, majestic in holiness,
Awesome in praises, working wonders?
12 “You stretched out Your right hand,
The earth swallowed them.
13 “In Your lovingkindness You have led the people whom You have redeemed;
In Your strength You have guided them to Your holy habitation.
14 “The peoples have heard, they tremble;
Anguish has gripped the inhabitants of Philistia.
15 “Then the chiefs of Edom were dismayed;
The leaders of Moab, trembling grips them;
All the inhabitants of Canaan have melted away.
16 “Terror and dread fall upon them;
By the greatness of Your arm they are motionless as stone;
Until Your people pass over, O LORD,
Until the people pass over whom You have purchased.
17 “You will bring them and plant them in the mountain of Your inheritance,
The place, O LORD, which You have made for Your dwelling,
The sanctuary, O Lord, which Your hands have established.
18 “The LORD shall reign forever and ever.”
19 For the horses of Pharaoh with his chariots and his horsemen went into the sea, and the LORD brought back the waters of the sea on them, but the sons of Israel walked on dry land through the midst of the sea.
20 Miriam the prophetess, Aaron’s sister, took the timbrel in her hand, and all the women went out after her with timbrels and with dancing.
21 Miriam answered them,
“Sing to the LORD, for He is highly exalted;
The horse and his rider He has hurled into the sea.”
Amen!
