Opening Hymn; Come to the cross by Michael W. Smith
Hallelujah, everyone
Everyone can come to the cross
It doesn’t matter what you’ve done
Everyone can come to the cross
Sinner, come today
Come today, at the cross there is room
Blessed thought for everyone
For everyone can come to the cross
Now a living fountain, see
Open there for you and me
For rich and poor, for bond and free
Opening prayer;
Heavenly Father, you are the God of peace which surpasses understanding. When our minds are full of the cares of the world, please calm our anxiety and soothe our fears. Give us your peace in our hearts, our minds and our souls. May we approach every part of the life with the assurance that comes from your peace. We have nothing to fear when you are with us. If you are for us, who can be against us? Remind our minds of your presence and your power. Cause your precious face to shine upon us. This we pray in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen
Sermon on the New covenant and its elements.
New Covenant (or New Testament) is the promise that God makes with humanity that He will forgive sin and restore fellowship with those whose hearts are turned toward Him. Jesus Christ is the mediator of the New Covenant, and His death on the cross is the basis of the promise. The prophet Jeremiah also predicted the New Covenant. “‘The day will come,’ says the Lord, ‘when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and Judah. . . . But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day,’ says the Lord. ‘I will put my law in their minds, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people’” There were seven parts to the New Covenant. They were Forgiveness, sin, wisdom, grace, love, peace and joy and mercy. Sin is anything wrong done in the eyes of Our Lord. One of the things Our Heavenly Father has taught us for who really reads the bible. Your worst enemy is your tongue. Your Heavenly Father does not take into consideration about what other people say about you, but what you say about yourself. Sin is anything not right in Our Heavenly Father’s eyes; such as using foul language, not having a good rapor with God, or communicating to him the wrong way in prayer. Having ill feelings about people. If you do things like this, and ask for forgiveness and repent of it, and not do it much after that he will forgive you, as long as you are one of his children, and you have accepted his son Jesus Christ. Mercy is a concept integral to an understanding of God’s dealings with humankind. In English translations of the Bible, it comes to expression in phrases such as “to be merciful, ” “to have mercy on, ” or “to show mercy toward.” The corresponding term, “merciful, ” describes a quality of God and one that God requires of his people.The Old Testament. Mercy: A Part of God’s Nature. Although people have the capacity for showing mercy, especially toward those with whom they already have a special relationship. wisdom- Skill according to God’s way of life. Another way of saying walk with God and learning his way of life. Listen to him when he talks to you. Let God guide your life for you. He can see way into the future more than you can.
We are not saying it is easy to do this, but you need to, but your Lord wants to be a great Heavenly Father to you and wants you to be a child of his, so that you can have eternal life with him in Heaven. So he wants you to learn the bible and his word, and walk with him and let him guide your life. So without your lord you would not have anything after this life, except for pain, and suffering and darkness. We would think you would want to be in the light. Grace-The word “grace” in biblical parlance can, like forgiveness, repentance, regeneration, and salvation, mean something as broad as describing the whole of God’s activity toward man or as narrow as describing one segment of that activity. An accurate, common definition describes grace as the unmerited favor of God toward man. Joy is a feeling of good pleasure and happiness that is dependent on who Jesus is rather than on who we are or what is happening around us. Joy comes from the Holy Spirit, abiding in God’s presence and from hope in His word. Biblical peace is more than just the absence of conflict or state of rest. It means completenes. Peace has several meanings in the Bible. In its first sense, peace means peace with God. It means we are no longer at war with God, and He is no longer at war with us. This kind of peace is the same thing as salvation and is the foundation of all our blessings. It is not what Paul is referring to here in Galatians 5:22, however, because peace is something that grows and develops in the lives of those who already have peace. Love- The act of taking joy and pleasure in people or things. A strong emotion of delightment.
closing Hymn; Perfect wisdom of God by Keith and Kristen Getty;
The perfect wisdom of our God,
Revealed in all the universe:
All things created by His hand,
And held together at His command.
He knows the mysteries of the seas,
The secrets of the stars are His;
He guides the planets on their way,
And turns the earth through another day.
The matchless wisdom of His ways,
That mark the path of righteousness;
His word a lamp unto my feet,
His Spirit teaching and guiding me.
And oh, the mystery of the cross,
That God should suffer for the lost
So that the fool might shame the wise,
And all the glory might go to Christ!
Oh grant me wisdom from above,
To pray for peace and cling to love,
And teach me humbly to receive
The sun and rain of Your sovereignty.
Each strand of sorrow has a place
Within this tapestry of grace;
So through the trials I choose to say:
“Your perfect will in your perfect way.”
closing prayer;
Loving Heavenly Father, thank You that You have given us all that we need for life and godliness, but Lord, we also pray that You would grant us godly wisdom and the sufficient grace to navigate our way through life, in the power of the Holy Spirit.
You have called us to be as wise as serpents and yet as gentle as doves, and so we ask for Your practical wisdom, gracious sensitivity and wise discernment so that we may be enabled to identify what is from You, and what is designed to trip up Your children in these end times, and even deceive the very elect of God.
Father, we know that in these last days the Church is going to be flooded with the spirit of deception and many unbiblical teachings, and Lord, we appear to be in this position today. But we praise and thank You we are in Christ, Who has become for us the wisdom from God. We praise Your name that we are in Christ, clothed in His righteousness and redeemed by His blood.
Grant us we pray, that sufficient grace and godly wisdom that only comes from You, so that we may live as unto the Lord in a world that has rejected You. Fill us we pray, with Your Holy Spirit, so that we may act justly in love and mercy, and walk humbly before You all the days of our lives. This we ask in Jesus’ name, Amen.
Benediction; Go in peace and spread the word that you learned about today and all what you have learned throughout this week. Have a very blessed and joyous, and peaceful week.
For those who wish to become a child of our heavenly Lord, or strengthen thier faith, please pray the following prayer below.
Dear Heavenly Father, I want to be a part of your family. You said in Your Word that if I acknowledge that You raised Jesus from the dead, and that I accept Him as my Lord and Savior, I would be saved. Thank you, Heavenly Father, for forgiving me, saving me, and giving me eternal life with You. Amen!”
By saying this prayer, we believe you are born again.
