Hello everyone, today we will be discussing in the book of Exodus about the plan that God had given the people of Israel for building his temple.
Opening Hymn; Song of the sea by Shirat Hayam;
1 Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the LORD, and spoke, saying: I will sing unto the LORD, for He is highly exalted; the horse and his rider hath He thrown into the sea. 2 The LORD is my strength and song, and He is become my salvation ; this is my God, and I will glorify Him; my father’s God, and I will exalt Him. 3 The LORD is a man of war, The LORD is His name. 4 Pharaoh’s chariots and his host hath He cast into the sea, and his chosen captains are sunk in the Red Sea. 5 The deeps cover them–the y went down into the depths like a stone. 6 Thy right hand, O LORD, glorious in power, Thy right hand, O LORD, dasheth in pieces the enemy. 7 And in the greatness of Thine excellenc y Thou overthrow est them that rise up against Thee; Thou sendest forth Thy wrath, it consumeth them as stubble. 8 And with the blast of Thy nostrils the waters were piled up–the floods stood upright as a heap; the deeps were congealed in the heart of the sea. 9 The enemy said: ‘I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.’ 10 Thou didst blow with Thy wind, the sea covered them; they sank as lead in the mighty waters. 11 Who is like unto Thee, O LORD, among the mighty? who is like unto Thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders? 12 Thou stretched st out Thy right hand–the earth swallowed them. 13 Thou in Thy love hast led the people that Thou hast redeemed; Thou hast guided them in Thy strength to Thy holy habitatio n. 14 The peoples have heard, they tremble; pangs have taken hold on the inhabitan ts of Philistia . 15 Then were the chiefs of Edom affrighte d; the mighty men of Moab, trembling taketh hold upon them; all the inhabitan ts of Canaan are melted away. 16 Terror and dread falleth upon them; by the greatness of Thine arm they are as still as a stone; till Thy people pass over, O LORD, till the people pass over that Thou hast gotten. 17 Thou bringest them in, and plantest them in the mountain of Thine inheritan ce, the place, O LORD, which Thou hast made for Thee to dwell in, the sanctuary , O Lord, which Thy hands have establish ed. 18 The LORD shall reign for ever and ever.
Announcement; Around about next Wednesday we will be starting a very special series that we have already given the children, but from their bible, and they use the standard bible. But we will be using the King James bible. It is on 667 sins that the Lord looks at throughout your life. 666 sins are forgiven right away but one is not. It is important for you to know these sins, so if you have done any of them you can ask for forgiveness and they will be taken away from you, any of the 666 sins. The children have asked for it at first, but we will be writing it as of the king James bible.
Opening Prayer; Father, we pray that we may become people of prayer, learning to communicate with the God of Glory, and finding in the place of prayer with other believers the answer to the personal needs that afflict us day by day. We pray the words on this page are pleasing to your sight. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Sermon; God’s plan for his temple in Israel.
God’s plans for the sanctuary that He wanted the people of Israel to build. He delivered very specific instructions to Moses throughout this chapter and previous chapters. Focuses on the detailed instructions He gave for the altar of burnt offerings, the courtyard, and oil for the lampstand. God describes the clothing that He wants the priests to wear in the Tabernacle. This is called the Aaronite priest code and it was to show that the priests served God in a special way. Discusses the consecration of the priests, which included Aaron and his sons. God gave very specific instructions to Moses about how Aaron and his sons, the chosen ones before God, were to make sacrifices. Here they are implementing the altar before the vail that is by the ark of the testimony, which is before the mercy seat where God meets with Moses or the high priest. The altar is made of shittim wood but overlaid with pure gold. Aaron is to offer incense on it every morning. Moses is talking to God on the top of Mt. Sinai. The Israelites were gathered below and worried about when Moses was going to come down from the mountain.
Closing Hymn; Glory and praise to our God by Dan Shute
Glory and praise to our God
Who alone gives light to our days
Many are the blessings He bears
To those who trust in His ways
We the daughters and sons of Him
Who built the valleys and plains
Praise the wonders our God has done
In every heart that sings
Glory and praise to our God
Who alone gives light to our days
Many are the blessings He bears
To those who trust in His ways
In His wisdom He strengthens us
Like gold that’s tested in fire
Though the power of sin prevails
Our God is there to save
Glory and praise to our God
Who alone gives light to our days
Many are the blessings He bears
To those who trust in His ways
Every moment of every day
Our God is waiting to save
Always ready to seek the lost
To answer those who pray
Glory and praise to our God
Who alone gives light to our days
Many are the blessings He bears
To those who trust in His ways
God has watered our barren land
And spent his merciful rain
Now the rivers of life run full
For anyone to drink
Glory and praise to our God
Who alone gives light to our days
Many are the blessings He bears
To those who trust in His ways
Closing prayer; Heavenly Father, thank You that You are a Lord and savior Who is faithful and true, and Who has promised to be with us as we journey through life and give us Your rest – just as You did for You people Israel. Thank You for the godly example of Moses, who was jealous for the honour of Your name, and was quick to intercede for Your people when they became obstinate and stiff-necked. Thank You that we have the indwelling Presence of the Holy Spirit to lead and to guide us through the journey of life and thank You, Father, that our rest and redemption is secure in Christ Jesus our Lord, in Whose name we pray, AMEN.
