Opening Hymn; To God be the Glory by Amazon Music;
To God be the glory great things He hath done
So loved He the world that He gave us His son
Who yielded His life an atonement for sin
And opened the life gate that all may go in
And to God be the glory
To God be all praise
We live for Your glory
All of our days
To God be all glory and praise
O perfect redemption, the purchase of blood
To every believer the promise of God
The vilest offender who truly believes
That moment from Jesus a pardon receives
And to God be the glory
To God be all praise
We live for Your glory
All of our days
To God be all glory and praise
Great things he hath taught us great things he hath done
And great our rejoicing through Jesus the son
But purer and higher and greater will be
Our wonder our transport when Jesus we see
And to God be the glory
To God be all praise
We live for Your glory
All of our days
To God be all glory and praise
Opening Prayer; Heavenly Father, thank You for these instructions to church elders, to feed the flock of God with sound, biblical doctrine, and to take responsibility for the nurturing and encouragement of our brothers and sisters in Christ. Help each one of us to grow in grace and in a knowledge of You, and may all Your children live humbly and walk circumspectly before You, throughout our Christian life. Thank You, Father, that You are no respecter of persons and are ready to use any one of us who is willing to be used, and looking to Jesus as the Author and Finisher of our faith – even me. Give me opportunities to shepherd and nurture those that are weaker in the faith than I, and excite in me a desire to learn from elders and officials in the church, who are fulfilling their God-given role within the body of Christ. Give me a spirit of humility and grace to finish the race that is set before me, and may I do all to Your greater praise and glory. This I ask in Jesus’ name, AMEN.
Sermon for Sunday May 2, 2021
The apostle Peter wrote this epistle around 60 A.D. as a way to console the Christians that were suffering persecution at the hands of nonbelievers. He encouraged them to continue living a life of sanctity and purity despite the troubles that they were going through. Peter encouraged people to continue their duties and privileges as God’s special creation as pilgrims and sojourners because the world is not our home. The First Epistle of Peter was written by the apostle Peter to provide encouragement for Christians experiencing persecution for their beliefs. Written during a great time of suffering. Peter offered a reminder that they were God’s chosen people and they should always remember the blessings He bestowed upon them.
The first epistle of Peter starts off by giving the reader an overview of sin from the perspective of the believer. Peter said that since Jesus Christ died for us, He saved us from sin. Since He suffered for us, we were saved from what we suffer in the flesh, which is sin.
Since Jesus suffered and died for us, Peter explained that everybody was given the opportunity to be cleansed from such sins. Thus, rather than following the will of the people, and the callings of the flesh, we need to follow the will of God.
First Peter contains charges to the elders of the church and their respective flocks who were being commanded by Peter to shepherd the God’s flock among them and serve as overseers. We wanted to include Saturday’s special message in this sermon because it is very important to remember. Please read it if you have not already. It is very important for all countries leaders to understand as well. Also, to stop sinning before it is too late. Your lord is coming soon.
Reminder: for Saturday’s special message: It is very important for all of us on this earth. It is very serious, and very helpful to follow. Basically we are saying that you should not hurt anyone for any reason unless you are physically defending yourself. You should not reck someone else’s record trying to get up higher. The lord considers all of this action. Sin. Stop doing it before it is too late. Clean everyone up the way they were before whoever decided to mess them up. Also, do not request, or demand people to come to Washington unless you really do what you said you would do. We understand that public service is the lord calling you to serve, but a lot of people do not understand that. But it is, and We know there are a lot of new people in our government that are very aware of this. we commend them for trying to be part of our government. We praise God for letting them be as well.
This message was actually written for the U.S. but it can fit all countries in some of the ways they do things.
Prayer requests; Prayer request; For one of our own K.D. To get his left knee and left ankle healed.
Second request; To pray for our country and the world. That our country has the freedoms like they always had and the world can calm down without fear.
Closing Hymn; Holy, Holy, Holy by Donnie Mc Clurkin;
Holy, holy, holy
Lord God almighty
Early in the morning my song shall rise to thee
Holy. holy, holy
Merciful and mighty
God in three persons, blessed Trinity
Holy, holy, holy
All the saints adore Thee
Casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea
All the cherubim and seraphim are falling down before Thee
Which wert and art and evermore shalt be
Holy, holy, holy
Though the darkness hide Thee
Though the eyes of sinful man Thy glory may not see
Lord, only Thou art holy and there is none beside Thee
Perfect in power, in love and purity
Holy, holy, holy
Lord God almighty
All Thy works shall praise Thy name in earth and sky and sea
Holy, holy, holy
Merciful and mighty
You are God in three persons, blessed Trinity
You are God in three persons, blessed Trinity
Oh, God in three persons, blessed Trinity
Closing Prayer; Heavenly Father, We pray for this earth and some of your children going nuts the wrong way. We pray that this sermon will help everybody straighten up a bit and things will calm down a bit before you get here. We know we cannot calm all of it down, only you can. We praise you for helping everyone, even those who are thinking about becoming a child of yours. You are so great and we thank you for allowing us to be your vessels. We ask that Jesus help e everyone on earth to become children of yours. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Benediction; Go in peace and remember to spread the word and the message you heard today to all your friends and loved ones. Have a very blessed and peaceful week.
For those who wish to become a child of our heavenly Lord, or strengthen thier faith, please pray the following prayer below.
Dear Heavenly Father, I want to be a part of your family. You said in Your Word that if I acknowledge that You raised Jesus from the dead, and that I accept Him as my Lord and Savior, I would be saved. Thank you, Heavenly Father, for forgiving me, saving me, and giving me eternal life with You. Amen!”
By saying this prayer, we believe you are born again.
