Martin Luther King Jr. was a Baptist minister and a prominent leader in the Civil Rights Movement. He was raised in the Baptist faith and was baptized as a child at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. He later co-pastored the church with his father, Martin Luther King Sr.
King’s Christian faith was a driving force behind his actions. He believed in non-violent resistance and in doing God’s will. His message was a form of Christianity that applied to the physical freedom of slaves.
Dr. Martin Luther King was a very good civil rights leader but also cared a lot about senior citizens and people with disabilities and everyone else as well. He would only do what Our Heavenly Father told him to do. He would also help with social services when there was not any at that time. He would help anyone and give the shirt off his back. But unfortunately someone did not see him in hat way and assassinated him, so on this day January 20th 2025 We should remember Martin Luther King Jr. for what he was, but he was a minister first.
He was a minister for about 15 years, and his father Martin Luther King Sr. was a minister as well, both were one of the best in their time.
A rare thing happened this year, we also have the inauguration of The President of the united states. This is where the president swears in and takes the oath of office. What does that biblically mean?
The word inauguration comes from the Latin word augur, which refers to the rituals of ancient Roman priests who interpreted if a public official was worthy to take office.
In the Bible, inauguration can refer to the inauguration of a Torah scroll, the inauguration of the heavenly sanctuary, or the inauguration of the end times.
Inauguration of a Torah scroll
- Hachnasat Sefer Torah: A ceremony in which a Torah scroll is installed in a synagogue or other place of worship
Inauguration of the heavenly sanctuary
- Hebrews 6:19-20: Some interpret these passages as an inauguration, with Christ inaugurating the heavenly sanctuary and then sitting at the right hand of the Father
Inauguration of the end times
- Inaugurated eschatology: The Christian belief that the end times began with the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.
Closing Prayer:We pray in the name of the God who is our creator and who calls us to create communities of justice, freedom and peace. In the name of Our lord and savior we pray.
Lord Jesus take complete control of my life and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit.
Thank you Lord for saving me and I know you will answer my prayers. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
