Mark was an African native of Jewish parents who belonged to the Levites’ tribe. His family lived in Cyrenaica until they were attacked by some barbarians, and lost their property. Consequently, they moved to Jerusalem with their child John Mark (Acts 12:12, 25; 15:37). Apparently, he was given a good education and became conversant.

One of Jesus Christ’s 70 disciples and the four evangelists, Appostle Mark was born in Cyrene, Libya but his date of birth is unknown. He traveled with Saint Barnabas and Appostle Paul on many religious missions, during which he founded the Church of Alexandria. He died circa April 25, 68 A.D. in Alexandria, Egypt. In the 9th century, his relics were relocated to Venice. He is the Author of the Book of Mark.
In the dispersion of the apostles for propagating the gospel is different parts of the world, after our Lord’s ascension into heaven, Apposle Mark was by Peter sent into Egypt, where he soon planted a church in Alexandria, the metropolis; and such was his success, that he converted great multitudes of people, both men and women, into christians.

Closing prayer; Heavenly Father we thank you for Appostle Mark and him bringing us hope and life. We also thank you for the stories about Mark in the gospel and for his teachings on how to love and be peaceful. We also pray that who reads this understands it and ask Jesus and The Holy Spirit to help them do this as well. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

For those who wish to become a child of Our Heavenly Father or wish to be stronger in his eyes, please say the following prayer below.

Dear Heavenly Father, I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died for my sin and that you raised Him to life. I want to trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord, from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.”
