What does infirmity mean biblically?
sickness or bodily disease
To combat the “spirit of infirmity,” which refers to a spiritual force believed to cause illness or weakness, the primary method is through prayer and reliance on faith, specifically using the authority given by Jesus Christ to cast out evil spirits, including by declaring healing in His name, while also addressing any underlying spiritual issues like unforgiveness or bitterness that might be contributing to the infirmity.
Since spirits of infirmity don’t really have a right to be there, it is very easy to get rid of them. You simply use Jesus’ power and authority to tell them to leave. They pretty much have to go when you command them. Because they don’t have anything to attach to, they can’t try to hang on and resist you.
In Newman’s words, sins of “infirmity” are not mortal; they do not deprive us of Our Heavenly Father’s grace because of willfully turning from Him. Sins of “infirmity,” while still serious, are those sins by which we recognize our constant dependence on God, his mercy, and the sacrifice of His Son.
Prayer and Declaration:
Pray fervently, claiming healing and deliverance from the spirit of infirmity in Jesus’ name
- Scripture-Based Authority:
Use verses from the Bible that speak about Jesus’ healing power, such as Mark 16:18, where it says, “They will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well - Repentance and Forgiveness:
Examine your life for areas of sin or unforgiveness that could be hindering your healing, and seek God’s forgiveness. - Fasting:
Consider incorporating a period of fasting alongside your prayer to intensify your spiritual focus - Seek Spiritual Guidance:
If you are struggling with a persistent illness or infirmity, seek guidance from a trusted spiritual leader or pastor who can pray with you and offer supp
Important points to remember:
- Not All Illness is Spiritual: While spiritual attacks can be a factor, not every illness is caused by a demonic spirit, and seeking medical treatment is crucial.
- Faith and Positive Mindset: Maintain a positive attitude and believe in God’s ability to heal.
- Community Support: Share your struggles with fellow believers who can pray with you and encourage you.
Closing Prayer:
“Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve your sick servant, and give your power of healing to those who minister to his needs” In the name of Our lord and savior we pray.
- Lord help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and I know you will answer my prayers. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
