Matthew 7:21-23 7:21 Not everyone who says to me, Lord, Lord, will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.
7:22 Many will say to me on that day, Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?
7:23 Then I will tell them plainly, I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!
Romans 8:17 Now if we are children, then we are heirsheirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
Matthew 6:32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
Lesson
When you are a child of Our Heavenly Father he has a plan for your life, or his will.
The will of Our Heavenly Father is whatever He has decided in His wisdom, knowledge, holiness, and grace. His choices can include the decision to create the universe, including humans. His will includes the plan for salvation, the future roadmap for the creation, and the righteous standard that we are to conform to. But how do you follow this will. One way to find out what Our Heavenly Father wants you do do each day with your life is to pray and ask him what to do. Depending what the level you are with him depends how he will communicate with you. He has an individual plan for each of his children. In Matthew 7:21 Jesus warns us that those who do the will of the Father are the ones who will go to heaven. Not everyone who says to Me, “Lord, Lord,” will enter the kingdom of heaven; but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven. Matthew 7:21 (NASB) That is, no one is going to heaven unless he or she is doing the Father’s will. Only Christians can do the will of the Father. The Holy Spirit is the one who makes this happen. Now we are ready to examine Jesus’ statement in Matthew 7:21-23. In verse 21 Jesus warns us that on judgment day, only those who have done the will of the Father will enter heaven. Here is Matthew 7:21-23 He is eternally the Father of Jesus Christ, and through Jesus He is our Father. Through Jesus we receive the Father’s love and are called “children of God.” What an honor it is that God calls us His children and gives us the assurance that as His children we are heirs and co-heirs with Jesus Christ.
How do you follow the will of Our Heavenly Father? There are 4 steps to doing this.
The first step is get a direction.
He wants us to begin the process of aligning our desires with His.
second step is get two eyes. The Lord invites us to give Him two eyes, which is to seek His face and to pray to know His will in our lives.
The third step is to change direction. It is yielding our hearts to God with willingness to move in the direction He requires.
The fourth step is get a place of rest: The Lord extends to us His rest. As we turn to the Savior and draw closer to Him.
Closing Prayer; Heavenly Father we thank you for your word today. Help us to know you better, and to follow the will you have for our lives. Help us to be in prayer each day seeking your direction. We pray all who read this lesson understand it, and if they do not The Holy Spirit will help them understand. In the name of Our lord and savior we pray.
This prayer below is also called the sinners prayer, and it gets people to.become a child of Our Heavenly Father or strengthens thier faith within him whenever they are already a child of Our Heavenly Father
Prayer for salvation; Lord Jesus; Please come into my heart as my Lord and Savior.Take
complete control of my life and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and I know you will answer my prayers. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
