Two Witnesses
Olive trees and lampstands are used to be an example of servants of Our Heavenly Father. Two to three witnesses can help with showing the facts in testimonies. Moses and God call heaven and earth as two witnesses against the Israelites. In Matt. 18, Jesus instructs his disciples to confront a sinner privately, and if he does not listen, go to him in the company of two or more.
Revelation 11:6 “These have the power to shut up the sky, so that rain will not fall during the days of their prophesying; and they have power over the waters to turn them into blood, and to strike the earth with every plague, as often as they wish.
The two witnesses are described in miraculous terms similar to Elijah and Moses, but their authority is not unlike what Jesus told his disciples when he said they could “bind” (tie or forbid) or lose (untie or permit), and such judgment will stand on earth and in heaven (Matt. 18:18).. Even with remarkable powers given to them by God, they are not immune to suffering or even becoming victims of the beast. Even in their martyrdom, their bodies are dishonored by those to whom they bore their witness.
Good people can suffer horrible harm, but they will eventually be vindicated by their God and declared both righteous and victorious.

17:18 The woman you saw is the great city which has authority over all the rulers on earth.’
The woman whom you saw is the “great city, which reigns over the kings of the earth.’” (Rev. 17: 15-18). It’s not hard to deduce that the description of this “great city” is not tied to Jerusalem but to Rome.
The language could be tied to the persecution of Christ’s body. Both history and tradition relate to us that thousands of early Christ-followers met violent deaths in Rome, including Peter, the most famous disciple of Jesus, who was crucified there In what way is Rome like Sodom and Egypt? Sodom is a biblical metaphor that stood for sexual immorality, especially when people of the same gender were involved. Egypt, on the other hand, was forever etched in Jewish minds as the symbol of slavery and oppression.In Isaiah 1:10-15, the Almighty’s indignant against Jerusalem’s religious establishment. The people addressed in the speech are Jerusalemite priestly and ruling elites. Sodom is long gone, these are clearly Israelites.

“For truly in this city there were gathered together against Your holy servant Yeshua, whom You anointed, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, along with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, to do whatever your hand and purpose predestined to occur. (Acts 4:27-28) Though technically speaking, Jesus was crucified just outside of the walls of Jerusalem, Luke preserves Christ’s prediction that he will be killed in Jerusalem and not in some other place. (Luke 13:33-34).
Closing Prayer; Heavenly Father May we be a faithful witness in the position where You have placed us and continue to work the works of God, during our time on earth. Thank You that the indwelling Holy Spirit Who raised Jesus from the dead will empower Your two witnesses during the time of Jacob’s Trouble. We thank you in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Prayer of Salvation to become a child of Our Heavenly Father. Lord Jesus, I confess my sins and ask for your forgiveness. Please come into my heart as my Lord and Savior. Take complete control of my life and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and I know you will answer my prayers. In Jesus name I pray.
