Trampeling Jerusalem:

Revelation Chapter 11 gives an outlook about what happened in war time in Rome, which was over 42 years ago; or the First JewishRevolt of 66-70 CE.

Revelation 11:1-3 11:1 I was given a reed like a measuring rod and was told, Go and measure the temple of God and the altar, with its worshipers.

11:2 But exclude the outer court; do not measure it, because it has been given to the Gentiles. They will trample on the holy city for 42 months.

11:3 And I will appoint my two witnesses, and they will prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth.

Some of this also focusses on how judgement would happen when Jesus comes again to earth. Jesus also pointed out at that time many of the people in the first generation would see when he would come back to earth and judge many people that chose not to accept him. Jesus also mentioned in Matthew 24 that there would be a big army of enemies that would try to go against the people of Jerusalem. Jesus one day was leaving a temple and his deciples showed him a lot of buildings around it that also belonged to him.

Matthew 24: 1-2 24:1 Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings.

24:2 Do you see all these things? he asked. Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.

The deciples also asked Jesus to let them know through signs when he will be coming back to earth.

Matthew 24: 3-6 24:3 As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. Tell us, they said, when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?

24:4 Jesus answered: Watch out that no one deceives you.

24:5 For many will come in my name, claiming, I am the Messiah, and will deceive many.

24:6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come.

Matthew 24: 9-16 24:9 Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me.

24:10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other,

24:11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.

24:12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold,

24:13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved.

24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

24:15 So when you see standing in the holy place the abomination that causes desolation, spoken of through the prophet Daniellet the reader understand

24:16 then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

Matthew 24: 29-31 24:29 Immediately after the distress of those days  the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from the sky, and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.

24:30 Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.

24:31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

Revelation chapter 11 and Matthew chapter 24 can be connected to each other but two things must happen beforehand.

1. Methodological

Inconsistency. While arguing for

the literal fulfillment of judgment

(Romans trampling Israel for 42

months), this interpretation also

proposes the return of Messiah to

be non-literal.

2. Historical Inconsistency.

The war and 70 CE destruction do

not fit the Rev. 11 timeline.

When the jewish people went to war against Rome, it was not over in a day. There were different battles that was caused by other jewish people  that were in the Roman empire. Many counter battles resulted that was led towards Jerusalem. It took over 3 years to end the fights but Jerusalem submitted to Titus in 70 CE.

All the fighting led to Israel falling during that time too. One of the fortresses got taken over and this in  tern caused much of the fighting to still go on.

The prevailing view among many readers of Revelation is that this is yet to occur at some future day to come.

Short lived Victory

Aaron and Moses went to Pharaoh and saw how much he did not like to listen and follow his own will. This did not help Israel at that time. 10 illnesses came as a result. Sodom at that point was used as an area of judgement. But the rule was also that anyone that was a witness to something could not judge anyone. Many witnesses are supposed to warn and to speak the facts of what is before any judgement is issued. Many people who prphesize are encouraged by the Heavenly Father to repent of any sin and return to him if they went away from him. But Aaron and Moses could not be kept quiet in any situation. So Our Heavenly Father strongly suggested they repent of any wrong doing or face a lot of consequences. Any adversaries that cause conflict against a witness will end up causing them to go to the spirit realm. Much of this going on has caused disruption in the lives of many around the nations. Around many countries in the Middle East people passed gifts to each other when any witness passes on.

Revelation 11:9 People of every race, tribe, language and nation stare at their corpses, for three-and-a-half days, not letting them be buried,

Many of the witnesses that would Prophesies eventually resurrected back to life. They then went to Heaven. Many enemies saw this and realized justice was done.

Daniel 7 25-27 7:25 he will insult the Most High, and torment the holy ones of the Most High. He will plan to alter the seasons and the Law, and the Saints will be handed over to him for a time, two times, and half a time.

7:26 But the court will sit, and he will be stripped of his royal authority which will be finally destroyed and reduced to nothing.

7:27 And kingship and rule and the splendours of all the kingdoms under heaven will be given to the people of the holy ones of the Most High, whose royal power is an eternal power, whom every empire will serve and obey.”

Revelation 11:12-13 11:12 then I heard a loud voice from heaven say to them, ‘Come up here,’ and while their enemies were watching, they went up to heaven in a cloud.

11:13 Immediately, there was a violent earthquake, and a tenth of the city collapsed; seven thousand persons were killed in the earthquake, and the survivors, overcome with fear, could only praise the God of heaven.

Many evil things do not prevail when it comes to an adversary, but many that walk up right will be lifted to higher levels with the spirit.

Closing Prayer; Heavenly Father we praise you for your grace and your mercy, that we would have the hope of eternal reward from you, the Holy God of the universe. Oh, that’s only possible by your grace in our lives, by your mercy. We thank you in the name of Jesus Amen.

Prayer of Salvation to become a child of Our Heavenly Father. Lord Jesus, we confess my sins and ask for your forgiveness. Please come into my heart as my Lord and Savior. Take complete control of my life and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and I know you will answer my prayers. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
