There was a vision of Heaven that was seen by many witnesses. It was a woman that was going to have a baby.
Revelation 12: 1-2 12:1 Now a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman, robed with the sun, standing on the moon, and on her head a crown of twelve stars.
12:2 She was pregnant, and in labour, crying aloud in the pangs of childbirth.
Who this woman was is very unknown, but there is a question whether the woman could be Jesus’s mother.
Revelation 12:5 The woman was delivered of a boy, the son who was to rule all the nations with an iron sceptre, and the child was taken straight up to God and to his throne.
Many of the leaders that rule the countries try to work together against Our Heavenly Father.
Psalm 2; 1-3 2:1 Why this uproar among the nations, this impotent muttering of the peoples?
2:2 Kings of the earth take up position, princes plot together against Yahweh and his anointed,
2:3 ‘Now let us break their fetters! Now let us throw off their bonds!’
Our Heavenly Father had said to his son, today I have begotten you, but eventually you will be over the nations.
Psalm 2:4-9 2:4 He who is enthroned in the heavens laughs, Yahweh makes a mockery of them,
2:5 then in his anger rebukes them, in his rage he strikes them with terror.
2:6 ‘I myself have anointed my king on Zion my holy mountain.’
2:7 I will proclaim the decree of Yahweh: He said to me, ‘You are my son, today have I fathered you.
2:8 Ask of me, and I shall give you the nations as your birthright, the whole wide world as your possession.
2:9 With an iron sceptre you will break them, shatter them like so many pots.’
John always believed that the vision from heaven that this is the mother of King Jesus. There are 3 options we could be looking at here. The first thing is that the vision is Jesus’s earth mother Mary. Second, the woman is led by Israel in a way that is done in Proverbs chapter 8. Whose best son will rule the whole world (many have used “Church”ַinstead of“Israel”ַas well). The third is that Mary is also the mother of Israel.
In the book of Luke Mary is also given the honor to be the earth mother of Jesus Christ.
Luke 1:26-29 1:26 In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a town in Galilee called Nazareth,
1:27 to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph, of the House of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.
1:28 He went in and said to her, ‘Rejoice, you who enjoy God’s favour! The Lord is with you.’
1:29 She was deeply disturbed by these words and asked herself what this greeting could mean,
Luke 1:30-421:30 but the angel said to her, ‘Mary, do not be afraid; you have won God’s favour.
1:31 Look! You are to conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you must name him Jesus.
1:32 He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David;
1:33 he will rule over the House of Jacob for ever and his reign will have no end.’
1:34 Mary said to the angel, ‘But how can this come about, since I have no knowledge of man?’
1:35 The angel answered, ‘The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will cover you with its shadow. And so the child will be holy and will be called Son of God.
1:36 And I tell you this too: your cousin Elizabeth also, in her old age, has conceived a son, and she whom people called barren is now in her sixth month,
1:37 for nothing is impossible to God.’
1:38 Mary said, ‘You see before you the Lord’s servant, let it happen to me as you have said.’ And the angel left her.
1:39 Mary set out at that time and went as quickly as she could into the hill country to a town in Judah.
1:40 She went into Zechariah’s house and greeted Elizabeth.
1:41 Now it happened that as soon as Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the child leapt in her womb and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit.
1:42 She gave a loud cry and said, ‘Of all women you are the most blessed, and blessed is the fruit of your womb.
The one commandment that is just as important in the jewish culture and in christian is Honoring your parents. It is the one that can result in positive or negative consequences.
She is the one woman that had many blessings and good favor.
Exodus 20:15 You shall not steal.
There is a possibility that the woman is of the chosen people of Our Heavenly Father from Israel.
Deuteronomy 18:18 “What they have said is well said. From their own brothers I shall raise up a prophet like yourself;
The idea of Messiah surfaces first
in Gen. 3:15: “And I will make enemies
Of you and the woman,
And of your offspring and
her Descendant (seed);
He shall bruise you on the head,
And you shall bruise Him on the heel.”
One promise Our Heavenly Father made for the human race is a woman carying a seed, but what went on with Noah, and Abraham, and then Jacob and then through the family of David. The family of Israel and Jacob was the main characters of the story of the messiah.
Romans 9:4-5 9:4 They are Israelites; it was they who were adopted as children, the glory was theirs and the covenants; to them were given the Law and the worship of God and the promises.
9:5 To them belong the fathers and out of them, so far as physical descent is concerned, came Christ who is above all, God, blessed for ever. Amen.
Many people of the church in Israel are some what described as a woman Appostle Paul wrote about.
Five references to spans of time may help us clarify the identity
of the woman in this vision: Leave out the courtyard which
is outside the temple and do not measure it, because it
has been given to the nations; and they will trample the
holy city for forty-two months. (Rev. 11:2) And I will
grant authority to my two witnesses, and they will
prophesy for 1,260 days, clothed in sackcloth. (Rev.
11:3) Then the woman fled into the wilderness where
she had a place prepared by God, so that there she
would be nourished for 1,260 days. (Rev. 12:6) But the
two wings of the great eagle were given to the woman,
so that she could fly into the wilderness to her place,
where she was nourished for a time, times, and half a
time, away from the presence of the serpent. (Rev.
12:14) A mouth was given to him, speaking arrogant
words and blasphemies, and authority to act for forty-
two months was given to him. (Rev. 13:5).
If this Heavenly Woman is Mary then the following text below is explained.
“Then the woman fled into the
wilderness where she had a
place prepared by God, so that
there she would be nourished for
1,260 days.” (Rev 12:6).
The Heavenly vision that was given was described as the people of Israel or Mary, Jesus’s earth Mother.
Sometimes Revelation is often looked at like the book of Job. It is about things that happen behind the scenes in Heaven. Job always ended up suffering for something. But it turns out to be come than the adversaries schemes. The book of Revelation points out about oppression and evil acts that the adversary does on people that are walking right with the Lord. Some of it is for his purposes, and other followers are explained to why they suffer a lot.
Revelation 12;3-4 12:3 Then a second sign appeared in the sky: there was a huge red dragon with seven heads and ten horns, and each of the seven heads crowned with a coronet.
12:4 Its tail swept a third of the stars from the sky and hurled them to the ground, and the dragon stopped in front of the woman as she was at the point of giving birth, so that it could eat the child as soon as it was born.hical seven-headed red
crowned and is very powedragon appears in the skies.
The creature that came out of the sky had 7 horns on its head. He is also supposed to destroy the child of the heavenly woman. Revelation not only points out things that will take place later on, but that already happened long ago.
Revelation 12;7-9 12:7 And now war broke out in heaven, when Michael with his angels attacked the dragon. The dragon fought back with his angels,
12:8 but they were defeated and driven out of heaven.
12:9 The great dragon, the primeval serpent, known as the devil or Satan, who had led all the world astray, was hurled down to the earth and his angels were hurled down with him.
There will also come a day when The Lord will have a sword on him and will punish the serpent, or the adversary that also likes to cause divison among the people.
Isaiah 27:1 That day Yahweh will punish, with his unyielding sword, massive and strong, Leviathan the fleeing serpent, Leviathan the coiling serpent; he will kill that dragon that lives in the sea.
Both stories about a vision of a mother having a child, and about an angel with a dragon have a link to each other. One way is that one event takes place in the physical realm and the other in the spiritual realm. One other way is both events taking place on earth and Heaven. Jesus and his mother were threatened by another king on earth. All the forces in Heaven work together and make sure the adversary schemes are stopped.
(Rev. 12:10-12) Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God
and the authority of His Messiah have come, for the accuser
of our brothers and sisters has been thrown down…ַ
And they overcame him because of the blood of the
Lamb and because of the word of their testimony…ַFor
this reason, rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them…ַ
because the devil has come down to you with great
wrath, knowing that he has only a short time.”ַ
Closing prayer;Heavenly Father, thank You for the amazing book of Revelation which explains the end from the beginning. Thank You for detailing Satan’s final destination, when You throw him and his demons into the lake of fire for eternity. Satan knows his time on this earth is short and is prowling around like a lion seeking people to devour. Expose his works, I pray, and open the eyes of those who have been blinded by His deceit and deception. May many more be saved before this age is over and may Your name be glorified, not only in this age but in the age to come. In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN.
Prayer of Salvation to become a child of Our Heavenly Father. Lord Jesus, we confess my sins and ask for your forgiveness. Please come into my heart as my Lord and Savior. Take complete control of my life and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and I know you will answer my prayers. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
