The second Half of the 7 blessings.
Many of the people that received the letter at each of the churches was done in a specific order.
There is a lot of movement and pattern of travel when going from each of the 7 churches. The line of travel goes from Patmos, to Ephesus, then Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia and Laodicea. There is about 30 to 45 miles.
The Appostle John talked about Revelation being a lot of messages put into one big letter. Many different people in many cities would read it and give their opinions about it.
Many situations in Asia are also discussed.
Not many of the groups in Asia had a name to them, and they might have been very known, but was not talked about much. Many people that read this letter got an idea of how Roman leadership worked. Many of the people in the community got to see a different look to the world. It later was revealed in the letter that Our Heavenly Father’s leadership was much bigger and stronger than how it was in Rome.
The letter written by John was opposed to many of what was practiced in Rome, an example of this would be propaganda and rituals because it was not of Our Heavenly Father.
What led to John being against all this practice in Rome also was the vision he had of a woman that looked like a goddess. She was dressed in a lot of jewelry and pearls, and she later was found to be part of Babylonian leadership and was a prostitute. He was hoping to turn her to Our Heavenly Father, but was unsuccessful.
This woman would also sit on a big mountain with a shape of 7 heads of 7 kings. There are also other people that spoke many different languages.
Many people in Asia would also have a concern about a creature that was an adversary that would come from a pit. It was later found that it was an illusion in someone’s mind in Rome.
The letter that is in the book of Revelation gets an idea that there is something between the beast, and other kings.
Revelation 2:3 I know too that you have perseverance, and have suffered for my name without growing tired.
Revelation: 17:4;The woman was dressed in purple and scarlet and glittered with gold and jewels and pearls, and she was holding a gold windup filled with the disgusting filth of her prostitution;
Revelation 17:5-6
17:5 on her forehead was written a name, a cryptic name: ‘Babylon the Great, the mother of all the prostitutes and all the filthy practices on the earth.’
17:6 I saw that she was drunk, drunk with the blood of the saints, and the blood of the martyrs of Jesus; and when I saw her, I was completely mystified.
Revelation 17:8’The beast you have seen was once alive and is alive no longer; it is yet to come up from the Abyss, but only to go to its destruction. And the people of the world, whose names have not been written since the beginning of the world in the book of life, will be astonished when they see how the beast was once alive and is alive no longer, and is still to come.
Revelation 17:9-18
17:9 ‘This calls for shrewdness. The seven heads are the seven hills, on which the woman is sitting.
17:10 The seven heads are also seven emperors. Five of them have already gone, one is here now, and one is yet to come; once here, he must stay for a short while.
17:11 The beast, who was alive and is alive no longer, is at the same time the eighth and one of the seven, and he is going to his destruction.
17:12 ‘The ten horns which you saw are ten kings who have not yet been given their royal power but will have royal authority only for a single hour and in association with the beast.
17:13 They are all of one mind in putting their strength and their powers at the beast’s disposal,
17:14 and they will go to war against the Lamb; but because the Lamb is Lord of lords and King of kings, he will defeat them, he and his followers, the called, the chosen, the trustworthy.’
17:15 The angel continued, ‘The waters you saw, beside which the prostitute was sitting, are all the peoples, the populations, the nations and the languages.
17:16 But the ten horns and the beast will turn against the prostitute, and tear off her clothes and leave her stark naked; then they will eat her flesh and burn the remains in the fire.
17:17 In fact, God has influenced their minds to do what he intends, to agree together to put their royal powers at the beast’s disposal until the time when God’s words shall be fulfilled.
17:18 The woman you saw is the great city which has authority over all the rulers on earth.’
Revelation 9:13-19
The sixth angel blew his trumpet, and I heard a single voice issuing from the four horns of the golden altar in God’s presence.
9:14 It spoke to the sixth angel with the trumpet, and said, ‘Release the four angels that are chained up at the great river Euphrates.’
9:15 These four angels had been ready for this hour of this day of this month of this year, and ready to destroy a third of the human race.
9:16 I learnt how many there were in their army: twice ten thousand times ten thousand mounted men.
9:17 In my vision I saw the horses, and the riders with their breastplates of flame colour, hyacinth-blue and sulphur-yellow; the horses had lions’ heads, and fire, smoke and sulphur were coming from their mouths.
9:18 It was by these three plagues, the fire, the smoke and the sulphur coming from their mouths, that the one third of the human race was killed.
Closing Prayer;
Heavenly Father, I know that my heart is not as fervently in love with you as it should be. Thank You for Your grace and long-suffering patience with me. I confess I have quenched the Spirit in my life with my indifferent attitude. I want to change and live in submission to You. I pray that I would open the door of my heart to Jesus to come and fellowship with me, for in Him is fullness of joy. In Jesus’ name, AMEN.
