Biblical meaning of Thanksgiving
A special series on the biblical meaning of Thanksgiving week.
The first Thanksgiving was for the Pilgrims thanking the indians for showing them how to handle the land and cook. But today there is more of a biblical meaning than that. Back then people were even thankful to the lord.
confession, praise
According to Strong’s definitions, the Hebrew word thanksgiving is tôwdâh (to-daw’) and it means confession, praise, and offering. When we give thanks in the truest sense of the biblical word, we offer God our praises and acknowledge to Him that He is the Giver of all good gifts.
