The definition of forgiveness is essentially the act of pardoning an offender. In the Bible, the Greek word translated “forgiveness” literally means “to let go”, as when a person does not demand thier job to be done over again.
When someone hurts someone intentionally or by accident. That person that got hurt has to forgive the person that did the act to them sometime down the road of life. Just like Our Heavenly Father will forgive you just by asking him to forgive you. He likes us to be like him down here on earth. That is not that easy to do. It can be done however. When you make a mistake, immediately pray and ask for forgiveness and repent. Repent means to feel or express sincere regret or remorse about one’s wrong doing or sin. It also is important when you do ask for forgiveness and repent, you really mean it, and try real hard not to repeat the act.
Matthew 6:14-15 6:14 For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
6:15 But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.
Luke 6:37 6:37 Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.
Colossians 3:13 3:13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.
Closing prayer; Heavenly Father we hope that everyone that reads this understands how to forgive people, and let it go one way and out the other. If they do not understand the lesson we pray the Holy Spirit will help them understand. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Prayer of Salvation to become a child of Our Heavenly Father. Lord Jesus, I confess my sins and ask for your forgiveness. Please come into my heart as my Lord and Savior. Take complete control of my life and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and I know you will answer my prayers. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
