A gift of eternal life and salvation that is available to all who put their faith in God.
According to Ephesians 1:4-14, our inheritance in Christ includes being chosen in Christ before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless; predestined to be adopted as His sons and daughters through Jesus Christ; redeemed through Christ’s blood, the forgiveness of sins; knowledgeable of the mystery of His will.
He describes the covenant promises made to Abraham as an “inheritance,” something passed down from one person to his or her offspring. This inheritance was given by God’s promise. Theologians call it a “unilateral covenant,” meaning that it was one-sided. God didn’t ask Abraham to do anything to receive His promises.
Colossians 1:12 By the “inheritance”, or “lot”, is meant not the common lot of the children of God to suffer persecution for the sake of Christ, and through much tribulation to enter into the kingdom, which they are by God the Father counted and made worthy of, with the rest of saints called out of darkness into light; nor their.
Psalm 16:5-11 The LORD is the portion of mine inheritance and of my cup: Thou maintainest my lot. The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; Yea, I have a goodly heritage. I will bless the LORD, who hath given me counsel: My reins also instruct me in the night seasons.
Proverbs 13:22 encourages us that, ultimately, the wealth of the wicked will transfer to the righteous. This principle is a promise for those of us who want to see the Body of Christ control the finances of our cities and nations!
