God will forgive sins if people forgive others. This promise is found in the Lord’s Prayer in the Bible, as well as in other passages.
- Matthew 6:12, 14-15
“Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors” and “But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions” - Mark 11:25
“But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too”
1 John 1:9
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness”
What does the promise of forgiveness mean? - It’s a reminder that God is loving and forgiving, and wants to have a close relationship with his people
- It’s a reminder that God’s forgiveness is available to everyone, without exception
- It’s a reminder that people should forgive others in the same way that God forgives them
Today’s Scripture: Matthew 6:14-15 “For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” Luke 6:37 “Do not judge, and you will not be judged.
New International Version For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. New Living Translation.
Closing Prayer: ”Lord God, thank you for forgiving our sins, even for the sins we do not realize we commit”
Lord Jesus take complete control of my life and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and I know you will answer my prayers. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
