Opening Hymn: To god be the glory for the things he hath done. By Fanny Jane Crosby
To God be the glory, great things He hath done,
So loved He the world that He gave us His Son,
Who yielded His life our redemption to win,
And opened the life-gate that all may go in. Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the earth hear His voice;
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord,
Let the people rejoice;
Oh, come to the Father, through Jesus the Son,
And give Him the glory; great things He hath done.
2
Oh, perfect redemption, the purchase of blood,
To every believer the promise of God;
The vilest offender who truly believes,
That moment from Jesus a pardon receives.
3
Great things He hath taught us, great things He hath done,
And great our rejoicing through Jesus the Son;
But purer, and higher, and greater will be
Our wonder, our transport when Jesus we
- Psalm 112:5: Good will come to those who are generous and lend freely, who conduct their affairs with justice.
James 1:21 Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.
1 Timothy 4:12 Dont let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.
Ephesians 4:32 Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
Matthew 25:41 that one day, all evil will be done away with. Until that day we can rely on God’s grace. He doesn’t always prevent tragedy, but his grace will always see us through it
Lesson:
Have you ever heard about someone who packed up their life to move to some far-away, dangerous place to spread the Gospel? Did you think of them as some kind of super-Christian with super-faith and think that could never be you?
Sermon:
It’s easy to get the wrong idea when we are just looking at the end result of a long process. It would be like looking at an Olympic runner and saying you could never run that far or fast. But no one starts out at the Olympic level! And as Christians, our faith doesn’t start there either.
No one starts out at the Olympic level! And as Christians, our faith doesn’t start there either.
So how does one go from not running at all to running a marathon? Practice! You start off running short distances, then gradually start running farther and farther until you can run a marathon. Through your faith in Jesus Christ, you are called and equipped to stand firm in the midst of a world that tends to adopt a very unstable value system for itself. Let your mind dwell on this truth. Let your eyes see beyond the present moment. Give your heart permission to anchor itself in the words and works of Jesus Christ.
To take Our Heavenly Father seriously is to have a reverential fear of Our Heavenly Father. By doing so we gain true spiritual wisdom and knowledge on how we are to live, how to work, and how to teach others. We can be assured that Our Heavenly Father will do what He says that He will do.
August is a month of strength and protection; a month good for love, marriage and partnerships and a time to explore your inner visions and true inner self. Allowing you to bring light into your ‘darker (negative) side’, it is also a month of transition into that which is lighter and more positive.What is the Bible verse for the month of August? “In my father’s house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.”August is the only month that is also one of the top 1,000 names for men. The Purple Heart was created on August 7, 1782. It is important for us to understand the words in scriptures, so we know what our Heavenly Father is telling us. We had a lesson yesterday, so we wanted to make sure you understood what these words mean. We try once in a while to catch what the words mean. This way you can read the Bible better and know what the words mean biblically. It is often said that “God Doesn’t Like Ugly”
Well, if that was true, He really doesn’t love me
The day I accepted Him, I was in a hideous state
Baffled, a Holy God would consider me to take
For years, my external presentation covered the marks
However, my internal condition was ugly and torn apart
While looking the part, my heart needed a divine tailor
Yet, I was a public success, but certainly a private failure
True wisdom comes from our heavenly Father. His inspired Word is the ultimate source of wisdom and truth. It’s also true that Our Heavenly Father graciously uses trials to produce sweet fruit in our lives (James 1:2–4), often using difficult circumstances to teach us some of life’s most valuable lessons. Praying, “Lord, teach and grow me through this trial,” is always useful for us and precious to Our Heavenly Father. In Romans 15:14 Paul writes, “I myself am satisfied about you, my brothers, that you yourselves are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge and able to instruct one another.” Likewise, he exhorts the Colossians to “let the word of Christ dwell in you richly, teaching and admonishing one another in all wisdom.”
Closing Hymn: Let us all press on by Evan Stevens:
Let us all press on in the work of the Lord,
That when life is o’er we may gain a reward;
In the fight for right let us wield a sword,
The mighty sword of truth.
(SA): Fear not, though the enemy deride;
Courage, for the Lord is on our side.
We will heed not what the wicked may say,
But the Lord alone we will obey.
(TB): Fear not, courage, though the enemy deride.
We must be victorious, for the Lord is on our side.
We’ll not fear the wicked nor give heed to what they say,
But the Lord, our Heav’nly Father, him alone we will obey.
2.We will not retreat, though our numbers may be few
When compared with the opposite host in view;
But an unseen pow’r will aid me and you
In the glorious cause of truth.
(SA): Fear not, though the enemy deride;
3.If we do what’s right we have no need to fear,
For the Lord, our helper, will ever be near;
In the days of trial his Saints he will cheer,
And prosper the cause of truth.
(SA): Fear not, though the enemy deride;
Closing Prayer: Heavenly Father we pray that your children understand this and will spread it to ones that are not your children, but we hope that everyone that reads this will understand it, and if they do not they will pay attention to you and then we also hope that they learn a lesson from this subject and we pray this in the name of Our lord and savior.
Prayer for renewing faith
Heavenly Father, I’m asking You to give me eyes to see, ears to hear, and a heart to receive Your correction and guidance, as I seek a faith revolution in my life—a dramatic turnaround in my thinking, believing, speaking and acting. I ask You to give me the strength to hold strong in the days ahead.
Lord Jesus take complete control of my life and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and I know you will answer my prayers. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
