James 4:12.There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?
Matthew 7:1 Do not judge, or you too will be judged.
Proverbs 31:9 Speak up and judge fairly;
defend the rights of the poor and needy.
Romans 2:1.You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.
Lesson:
Under these conditions, the successors to Joshua—the judges—arose. The Hebrew term shofet, which is translated into English as “judge,” is closer in meaning to “ruler,” a kind of military leader or deliverer from potential or actual defeat. The divine judge, like human judges, investigates and evaluates conduct, measuring human acts against applicable laws. Like human judges, he fashions punishments and rewards to accomplish justice in light of the conduct disclosed.The judges were raised up by the Lord and enabled by the Spirit to deliver God’s people, secure rest in the land, and promote obedience to the covenant (Judg. 2:16–19). Modern interpreters commonly view the judges as morally corrupt individuals engaging in the depravity of their time. You are a judge, a public figure, who is seen as a symbol of the system of justice. As a member of the judiciary you bear the burden of expectations placed upon all judges, expectations on what one does or says, and how one behaves or reacts. In the Bible, the process of deciding what will happen to us after our life here on earth is called the Judgment. God does this to honor our freedom of choice by examining our hearts, setting apart those who choose Him from those who do not. This judgment happens before the Second Coming of Christ. Bible Gateway Matthew 7 :: NIV. “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? Because the Israelites failed to remove wicked influences from the promised land, they became entangled in sin and were conquered and afflicted by their enemies. After the Israelites cried unto the Lord for help, He sent judges to deliver them from their enemies. What’s the big idea? The primary message of Judges is that God will not allow sin to go unpunished. As Exodus established, Israel was God’s people—He was their King. They had forsaken the covenant established at Mount Sinai.
Closing Prayer; May the Almighty grant that the cause of truth, justice, and humanity shall in no wise suffer at my hands. Here is a message judges can relate to and endorse, universal in its applicability and utility. A reminder of the ever-present risk of calamity inherent in every decision. In the name of our lord and savior we pray.
Prayer for renewing faith
Heavenly Father, I’m asking You to give me eyes to see, ears to hear, and a heart to receive Your correction and guidance, as I seek a faith revolution in my life—a dramatic turnaround in my thinking, believing, speaking and acting. I ask You to give me the strength to hold strong in the days ahead.
Lord Jesus take complete control of my life and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and I know you will answer my prayers. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
