Sermon:
When members employ these spiritual gifts as faithful stewards of God’s varied grace, the church is protected from the destructive influence of false doctrine, grows with a growth that is from God, and is built up in faith and love. The term charism denotes any good gift that flows from God’s benevolent love. These abilities, often termed “charismatic gifts”, are the word of knowledge, increased faith, the gifts of healing, the gift of miracles, prophecy, the discernment of spirits, kinds of tongues, interpretation of tongues. What are the 22 spiritual gifts? They are as follows: Apostles; Prophets; Pastor-Teachers; Evangelists; Prophecy; Teaching; Wisdom; Knowledge; Faith; Miraculous Powers; Healing; Distinguishing between Spirits; Speaking in Tongues; Interpretation of Tongues; Helps; Service; Administration; Encouragement; Giving; Leadership; Mercy and Celibacy.
Each time we pray the Our Father, we ask for God to give us all that sustains us, to forgive us our sins, to guide us away from temptation, and to deliver us from evil. Why would Christ want us to ask for what we need? By praying this way, we admit that we can’t pick ourselves up by our bootstraps. Why does Jesus teach us to pray “our” Father? A: Jesus teaches us always to understand ourselves not only as individuals but as members of God’s family of believers, and to pray accordingly. So the “our” is all the children of God. “Our” sets us in a family. Heavenly Father desires a fulness of joy for all of His childrenYou should always thank your lord and savior for blessings, and for example back in the 1980’s sometime there was a young girl that ended up getting stuck in her grandmother’s well in the back yard. This little girl was stuck in this well for 3 to 4 days and they were able to rescue her and she was alive. It was a blessing that she was able to be rescued because she fell a long way down the well. Our Heavenly Father can do all kinds of blessings like that if you believe in him. We know that people that are reading these lessons are like god, and we are sure it has encouraged people to get to know him more. Let us see what the Bible says about blessings. In the Bible, Jared Dees, founder of TheReligionTeacher.com and author of Beatitales, uses his experience as a religious educator and father of young children to offer this collection of inspirational stories of prayer for young people. Each short Bible story in this book includes a brief introduction, an easy-to-read retelling of events, and reflection questions to share with children. Reading these stories will open up new ways for children to strengthen their relationship with God.
The Gospel refers to the news of Christ’s death and resurrection in order to pay the penalty for our sins and provide a way to eternal life. The seven doctrines of salvation are forgiveness, justification, reconciliation, redemption, sanctification, newness of life, and adoption. The seven elements or doctrines of salvation are divine works; they designate the divine side of dead.
Closing Prayer: Heavenly Father we thank you for your word today help us to all get closer to you and walk with you the way you ask us to. We pray all who read this sermon understand it, and we pray the Holy Spirit help them understand it. In Jesus name we pray.
Lord Jesus take complete control of my life and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and I know you will answer my prayers. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
