(Psalm 89:14). God is just. It is part of His character, which means He is always just. He cannot be unjust, and He defines and sets the standard for justice.Jun 4, 2018
Psalm 82:3.
Give justice to the weak and the fatherless; maintain the right of the afflicted and the destitute.
Proverbs 29:26. Many seek the face of a ruler, but it is from the Lord that a man gets justice.
Proverbs 31:8-9. ‘Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend ..
.In the Bible, justice means “to make right” and is based on the idea that all humans are equal before God. It’s a relational term that involves:
- Living in right relationships with God, one another, and the natural creation
- Treating people with dignity and fairness
- Giving people their rights, whether punishment, protection, or care
- Changing social structures to prevent injustice
The “justice” for which Jesus calls his followers to thirst in the beatitudes (Matthew 5:6) speaks of life, of reconciliation, the restoration of relationships with God and with one another (same as the “justice” the Old Testament links with peace and steadfast love).Justice is the ethical, philosophical idea that people are to be treated impartially, fairly, properly, and reasonably by the law and by arbiters of the law, that laws are to ensure that no harm befalls another, and that, where harm is alleged, a remedial action is taken – both the accuser and the accused. Fairness in the way people are dealt with: There’s no justice in the world when people can be made to suffer like that. The winner has been disqualified for cheating, so justice has been done (= a fair situation has been achieved). Synonyms. equity (FAIRNESS) formal. Justice means giving each person what he or she deserves or, in more traditional terms, giving each person his or her due. Justice and fairness are closely related terms that are often today used interchangeably. There have, however, also been more distinct understandings of the two terms.
Closing Prayer:
Give us, Heavenly Father, the vision which can see Your love in the world in spite of human failure. In the name of Our lord and savior we pray.
Lord Jesus take complete control of my life and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and I know you will answer my prayers. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
