Raynette K Weiss Ministries run by Our lord and on earth by Rev. Raynette K. Weiss and Jessie K. Weiss Assistant Minister as the lord’s vessels. Vessels are Our Heavenly Father’s servants. What does the month of December mean biblically. Wednesday and Thursday December 12, 2024.

2 Corinthians. Indeed, He is the Light of the world.

Luke 2:7.”And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.”

Luke 2 8-12

“And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you tidings of great joy, which shall be unto all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour which is Christ the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.”

Lesson:

The month of December has many spiritual meanings for many believers, including the celebration of Christmas, the birth of Jesus Christ:

  • Christmas
Christians have celebrated Christmas on December 25th since the Middle Ages to commemorate the birth of Jesus Christ. The name “Christmas” comes from the Mass of Christ, a service where Christians remember Jesus’ death and resurrection.
  • Other spiritual events
December is also home to other spiritual events, including:
    • Hanukkah: A Jewish festival that commemorates the attempt to restore the Temple in Jerusalem
    • Yalda: A Zoroastrian celebration of the winter solstice
    • Yule: The winter solstice, or the shortest day in the northern hemisphere
    • Ashura: An Islamic observance where Sunnis remember the Prophet Muhammad’s fast in solidarity with Jews
    • Feast of St. Nicholas: A spiritual observance
    • Bodhi Day: A Buddhist observance where Siddhartha Gautama vowed to sit under a tree until he was enlightened
    • Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe: A Catholic observance that commemorates Mary’s apparition to Juan Diego in the 16th century

The word “December” comes from the Latin word decem, which means “ten”. It was originally the tenth month of the year in the calendar of Romulus, which began in March.

On December 25, Christians around the world will gather to celebrate Jesus’ birth. Joyful carols, special liturgies, brightly wrapped gifts, festive foods—these all characterize the feast today, at least in the northern hemisphere.

December has marked the end of the year and the coming of winter since the ancient Romans established their first calendar. As its etymology indicates, December is formed from the Latin root decem- which means “ten” … but December is our twelfth month.

Closing Prayer:

Heavenly Father, as I step into the month of December, I come before You with a heart full of reflection and gratitude. This month marks the end of another year – a year filled with both challenges and blessings, losses and gains, tears and laughter. I thank You for Your faithfulness through it all.

Lord Jesus take complete control of my life and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and I know you will answer my prayers. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
