Lesson:
The soul, according to the Bible, is the combination of the physical body and the life-giving spirit of Our Heavenly Father that makes up a human being. It’s the complete package! At the end of life, when a person dies in his or her physical body, the soul is laid to rest as well, until Jesus comes back to take His children to heaven. The Soul, is your character, where your conscience, decision, choice and action is made. Your action can run in opposite directions than what your mind or feeling suggested. For example: though your mind concludes that smoking is harmful for your health, you decide to smoke.
- The Spirit, is the living breath from Our Heavenly Father, a requirement to stay alive. Though many believe we own the spirit, the scripture said, the spirit returns back to Our Heavenly Father after we die.
- The Mind, where we use our thinking to analyze and process information received through physical senses.
- The Heart, where we use our feeling to process information received through spiritual senses. For example, when you take matters personally, by feeling rejected even though the person did not say anything. The Spiritual Heart is the Supreme Consciousness, the ultimate Subject, the pure “I.” It is the Witness Consciousness, that intimate observer of all. It is compassion and understanding, life-giving and complex. It is a symbol for love. Our heart is the key to our deepest fulfillment and the doorway to experiencing profound peace, gratitude, joy, safety, and unconditional love.
It’s our hearts that really concern Our Heavenly Father, and faith in Him (trust, reliance) is what He is searching the heart for. Giving Our Heavenly Father your whole heart starts with giving him all your sin. He has paid it all off if you would but give it to him. Maybe you have never repented and given it to him, or maybe you have, but struggle to surrender and entrust your heart fully to him. Either way, you can. Tell Him that He is your hope, and without Him, you can do nothing. A prayer of forgiveness if the broken heart results from someone hurting you. Ask Our Heavenly Father to show you the purpose behind the situation you are in. A person whose actions are not right but who trusts the Lord is more pleasing to Our Heavenly Father than an individual who is doing the right things but has no faith in him; that is a parable for us. Our hearts have been wanderers over the earth and there has been nowhere to rest; but Our Heavenly Father says, ‘Give me your heart and I will cause it to live in the land; I will establish it.
Closing Prayer; Heavenly Father help us to have an open mind when it comes to you, help us to come to you more when we feel our Hearts and minds are not right, so we can have more happiness, and peace in our lives. In the name of Our lord and savior we pray.
Prayer for salvation; Lord Jesus; Please come into my heart as my Lord and Savior. Take complete control of my life and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and I know you will answer my prayers. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
