(Colossians 3:17). “Whatever you do, in word or deed (like picnics), do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him”

Isaiah 61:1 The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners,

Lesson:

The 4th of July is important to Our Heavenly Father and each activity to do with it. He wishes us all to have a wonderful time, and enjoy ourselves, but he also wants us to take time out for him, read his word, pray, and talk with him and remember to do all of this in his glory.

Whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do (like picnics), do all to the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31). “Whatever you do, in word or deed (like picnics), do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him” (Colossians 3:17).What do Christians think about the 4th of July?

Let the Fourth of July always remind us that here in this land, for the first time, it was decided that man is born with certain God-given rights… We sometimes forget that great truth, and we never should.”

Our celebration is one of remembrance for those who gave their lives to secure our freedoms – although our freedoms through Jesus’ death are greater. Our Christian commitment to scripture and the holiness of God is not reduced to our expressions of gratitude for our country.

Independence Day? At Christmas, we celebrate the birth of our Savior and King. At Easter, we celebrate the end of the reign of death and sin for the believer. And Independence Day can be a great reminder of the freedom that we have as followers of Christ. The 4th of July provides an opportunity for Americans to celebrate the cherished freedoms they enjoy. From the freedom of speech and religion to the right to pursue happiness. The ability to shape their own destinies, these liberties are fundamental to the American identity. As Matthew 5:16 says, “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”Fireworks on the 4th of July biblically is to point out the faith of christians, and the light that will shine through any darkness that enters our lives.

Closing Prayer: Heavenly Father, we want to hear Your precious will for our days and for our lives. Help us to seek You and be still to listen to You. You have all the answers and we need to hear them. We trust You and the guidance You give through the power of Your Holy Spirit given to us through the death and resurrection of Your Son, Jesus Christ.

Prayer for salvation; Lord Jesus; Please come into my heart as my Lord and Savior. Take complete control of my life and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and I know you will answer my prayers. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
