- 2 Corinthians 13:5
Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.
- Galatians 6:3-4
For if anyone thinks himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceives himself. But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
Psalm 19:12
Who can understand his errors?
Cleanse me from secret faults.
Jeremiah 17:9
” The heart is deceitful above all things,
And desperately wicked;
Who can know it?
Lesson:
Our Heavenly Father expects you to pray to him each night and day and near the end of your work day as well. He expects a self examination to be discussed at times. A biblical self examination means looking to Scripture and see God’s commands as the Holy Spirit points out the sins we harbor that are contrary to the Truth. We should regularly engage in the process of self-examination so that we grow in awareness about how we are measuring up against God’s perfect standard.
Three Guidelines for Self-Examination
- Be intentional. Set aside a specific time to examine your own life. Find a place where you can be alone. …
- Be specific. Ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes to see what is going on in your life.
- Be a believer. Bring what Our Heavenly Father shows you to him in confession as a believer.
Go to the word, hear the voice of the Lord, and experience the flood of divine light pouring into your mind with clarity and comfort. This is something Our Heavenly Father will allow you to do.
Examining your life is essential to your growth as a Christian believer. Seeing your own sins and failings will make it possible for you to confess, repent, find forgiveness, and grow in grace. These are the steps by which we move forward in the Christian life. What all of this also means is that. You have to be closer to Our Heavenly Father and willing to take the steps listed above. You should spend at least 4 or 5 hours within 24 hours having time with Our Heavenly Father, you can invite family at times, but it should be just yourself with him. If you put all the lessons together from this series and before you will see how important time with Our Heavenly Father is.
Closing Prayer; Heavenly Father we pray that this lesson will help people understand how important self examination is and that they do it as often as the lord allows them to do it. In the name of Our lord and savior we pray.
.Prayer for salvation;
Lord Jesus; Please come into my heart as my Lord and Savior. Take complete control of my life and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and I know you will answer my prayers. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
