Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
And in Exodus 26:14, we read: “And make for the tent a covering of tanned ram skins, and a covering of dolphin skins above.”
Genesis 7:15 says “And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life.”
1 Peter 2:11 Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against you
Lesson:
But our hope is an anchor which we throw upward, into the skies of heaven…” Philip Kosloski, at Aleteia, more recently discussed the dolphin symbol, observing that in the ancient world, dolphins “were known as the ‘sailor’s friend’ and there are many legends of dolphins leading mariners to safer shores…” The dolphin drawn with the boat was a symbol of the Church or its people being protected and guided by Jesus. The anchor is a sign that the Christian is unmovable and firm in his faith and the dolphin, representing Christ on the cross protects us on our journey. Their curiosity and friendly nature have earned them the reputation of being gentle and empathetic beings, capable of forming deep bonds with humans and other animals. The dolphin’s qualities symbolize harmony, freedom, intuition, and a deep connection with the mysteries of the ocean. Scientists think dolphins “talk” about everything from basic facts like their age to their emotional state. “I speculate that they say things like ‘there are some good fish over here,’ or ‘watch out for that shark because he’s hunting,'” says Denise Herzing, who studies dolphins in the Bahamas. The act of defending humans from an animal that can attack them, like sharks, is similar to the behavior of mothers protecting their offspring. dolphins’ blubber may contain natural antibiotics. This hypothesis would explain how dolphins prevent their wounds from becoming infected. Dolphins hold a special place in the hearts of many, thanks to their intelligence, grace, and playful nature. As a powerful symbol in various cultures throughout history, the dolphin represents a multitude of qualities such as joy, harmony, balance, resilience, and emotional intelligence. This animal of the seas and oceans is joyful, graceful, compassionate, intelligent, generous and protective. It also symbolizes cooperation and freedom. Its energy is positive and it is often a symbol of love, life and joy. Speaking generally, the dolphin is the symbol of the individual Christian, rather than of Christ Himself, though in some instances the dolphin with the anchor seems to be intended as a representation of Christ upon the Cross. In many indigenous cultures, dolphins are revered as spiritual guides and messengers, believed to possess the ability to communicate with the spirit world and act as intermediaries between humans and the divine. They are seen as symbols of transformation, healing, and renewal. If sharks are the scary ones of the sea, dolphins are the opposite– the friendly ones. Interestingly, dolphins exhibit signs of compassion and altruism. They’ll stay and help injured individuals and even help them to the surface to breath if needed. Not only will they help each other, but also humans and whales, too. The dolphin would thus rescue the fishermen from danger and lead them safely home. This led to the idea of the dolphin as light-bearer, representing Christ as light of the world and this image of it has been preserved in Christian art.Early Christian art depicts dolphins wrapped around an anchor, symbolizing Jesus on the cross. Since Christians living near the ocean knew dolphins often guided sailors to safety, they easily identified them with their Savior.
