Romans 12:1 says, “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.” True worship involves offering ourselves fully to God, not just our words or songs. God has set us apart from the world to serve Him.
Isaiah 12:5 Sing to the Lord, for he has done glorious things; let this be known to all the world.
Hebrews 13:15 Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.
Psalm 96:9 Worship the Lord in the splendor of his holiness; tremble before him, all the earth.
The basic function of worship—the establishment and maintenance of the relation between human beings and the holy—includes many facets. The relation between the holy and the earthly has, however, a noteworthy ambivalence. On the one hand, human life is enriched and renewed through ever closer relations with the divine.
Note, the devine means your Heavenly Father.
The most common word for “worship” literally means “bend over” or “bow down.” It describes a gesture of respect or submission to God. (e.g., Genesis 18:2, Exodus 20:4 – 6). Combined with other gesture-words, this term came to be used for the attitude of homage that the gesture represented. Submitting yourself to your Heavenly Father.
Closing Prayer; Heavenly Father help us to worship you with all our hearts, and to only submit our lives to you. We pray all who read this understand it and learn from it, and that The Holy Spirit will help them if they do not understand. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
Prayer of Salvation: Which is how you ask to become a child of Our Heavenly Father. Lord Jesus, I confess my sins and ask for your forgiveness. Please come into my heart as my Lord and Savior. Take complete control of my life and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and I know you will answer my prayers. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
