Raynette K. Weiss Ministries run by Rev. Raynette K. Weiss and Assistant Minister    Jessie K. Weiss invite you to Holy Tuesday’s lesson. April 4, 2023

Holy Tuesday is all about Jesus Christ’s return to Jerusalem from Bethany, not to be confused with his triumphant return to Jerusalem on Palm Sunday after being tested in the desert. After Palm Sunday Jesus goes to Bethany, and on Tuesday he returns to Jerusalem, to go onwards to the Mount of Olives. On Holy Tuesday, the conspiracies to trap Jesus escalated. Israel’s religious leaders had one goal: to get rid of Jesus of Nazareth. If this meant cooperating with a lifelong enemy, any means would be justified.

Matthew 21:23 Jesus entered the temple courts, and, while he was teaching, the chief priests and the elders of the people came to him. By what authority are you doing these things? they asked. And who gave you this authority?

Matthew 24:51He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Mark 11:20In the morning, as they went along, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots.

Mark 13:37 What I say to you, I say to everyone: Watch!

Luke 20:1 One day as Jesus was teaching the people in the temple courts and proclaiming the good news, the chief priests and the teachers of the law, together with the elders, came up to him.

Hymn about Holy Tuesday; My savior, My almighty friend by Isac Watts;

1 My Saviour! my almighty Friend;

When I begin thy praise,

Where will the growing numbers end,

The numbers of thy grace?

2 Thou art my everlasting trust;

Thy goodness I adore;

And, since I know thy graces first,

I speak thy glories more.

3 My feet shall travel all the length

Of the celestial road;

And march with courage in thy strength,

To see my Father God.

4 How will my lips rejoice to tell

The victories of my King!

My soul, redeemed from sin and hell,

Shall thy salvation sing.

Closing Prayer; Heavenly Father grant us grace as we meditate on the passion of our Lord that we may there find the forgiveness of our sins; through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord. We pray all who read this lesson understand it and learn from it. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Prayer of Salvation: Which is how you ask to become a child of Our Heavenly Father. Lord Jesus, I confess my sins and ask for your forgiveness. Please come into my heart as my Lord and Savior. Take complete control of my life and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and I know you will answer my prayers. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
