Raynette K. Weiss Ministries run by Rev. Raynette K. Weiss and Assistant Minister Jessie K. Weiss invite you to Psalm 10. Thursday, May 11, 2023.

Verse of the day; John 15:9-11; 15:9 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.

15:10 If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Fathers commands and remain in his love.

15:11 I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.

Daily Devotional; Psalm 10 Devotional by Robert Fudge;

As I type these devotionals each morning, I am reminded that some who receive them are family or dear friends, some are casual acquaintances, some of you I have never met and then some are forwarded to others that I don’t even know about. Yet, we all have one thing in common and that is that we are seeking to know God and live for him. With these thoughts in mind, it is my goal to help each of us have greater faith and to know the presence of our Lord in our lives on a daily basis. So I offer a prayer for each of you as you serve him.

We serve a God who loves us all and sees our affliction. He knows when others seek us harm or when disease racks our bodies. He helps us as we minister to the needs of our loved ones who are suffering. When our relationships are torn apart or are threatened by sin, he is our strength and anchor in life. We are not given all the reasons why we face these thing (and many others) but we find help in knowing that the worst we face in this life does not begin to compare with the glory of that eternal home with God and with our Lord, Jesus Christ.

O God, thank you for revealing yourself to me. Thank you for the Bible which tells me about you, about your love for me and how I can be a part of your family. As a part of your family, help me use all I have and all I am to your glory. Increase my faith so I never lose sight of you, of Jesus and of the things above. Forgive me when I fail. Give me wisdom to know how to build up others in their faith and to never hinder or tear down others. I pray in the name of Jesus my Lord.

10:1 Why, Lord, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?

10:2 In his arrogance the wicked man hunts down the weak, who are caught in the schemes he devises.

10:3 He boasts about the cravings of his heart; he blesses the greedy and reviles the Lord.

10:4 In his pride the wicked man does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God.

10:5 His ways are always prosperous; your laws are rejected by him; he sneers at all his enemies.

10:6 He says to himself, Nothing will ever shake me. He swears, No one will ever do me harm.

10:7 His mouth is full of lies and threats; trouble and evil are under his tongue.

10:8 He lies in wait near the villages; from ambush he murders the innocent. His eyes watch in secret for his victims;

10:9 like a lion in cover he lies in wait. He lies in wait to catch the helpless; he catches the helpless and drags them off in his net.

10:10 His victims are crushed, they collapse; they fall under his strength.

10:11 He says to himself, God will never notice; he covers his face and never sees.

10:12 Arise, Lord! Lift up your hand, O God. Do not forget the helpless.

10:13 Why does the wicked man revile God? Why does he say to himself, He wont call me to account?

10:14 But you, God, see the trouble of the afflicted; you consider their grief and take it in hand. The victims commit themselves to you; you are the helper of the fatherless.

10:15 Break the arm of the wicked man; call the evildoer to account for his wickedness that would not otherwise be found out.

10:16 The Lord is King for ever and ever; the nations will perish from his land.

10:17 You, Lord, hear the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry,

10:18 defending the fatherless and the oppressed, so that mere earthly mortals will never again strike terror.

Summary; Asks why Our Heavenly Father seems to ignore the character and deeds of wicked people. The wicked are described as haughty oppressors of the poor and helpless. They are arrogant, greedy, insulters of God. They don’t believe He exists, so they feel free to take advantage of poor and helpless victims.

Closing Prayer; Heavenly Father, we praise you for you are the eternal king! We praise you that you are holy and righteous and you sit on the throne forever and ever. Thank you that you are also a personal God who loves us dearly and that through Jesus’ death and resurrection you have given hope to the helpless. We praise you and thank you in the name of Jesus. Amen.

Prayer of Salvation: Which is how you ask to become a child of Our Heavenly Father. Lord Jesus, I confess my sins and ask for your forgiveness. Please come into my heart as my Lord and Savior. Take complete control of my life and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and I know you will answer my prayers. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
