Announcement: We will be having a special Memorial Day Service on Sunday as well as Monday. We are here for you 24 hours a day for you. Phone does not ring that often anymore.
On a less somber note, many people take weekend trips or throw parties and barbecues on the holiday, perhaps because Memorial Day weekend—the long weekend comprising the Saturday and Sunday before Memorial Day and Memorial Day itself—unofficially marks the beginning of summer.
Colossians 2:8; Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
Ephesians 4:2;With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
Exodus 13:3; And Moses said unto the people, Remember this day, in which ye came out from Egypt, out of the house of bondage; for by strength of hand the LORD brought you out from this place: there shall no leavened bread be eaten.
Deuteronomy 5:16; Honour thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
Memorial day weekend you should really use to be around your family, talk about ones you lost during thier time in the service, and even if they were not in the service honor them for what they did through the Lord for you. It is time to honor them for going to the spirit world. This is what the whole weekend is about. Being with your family sharing memories and honoring any services that they did.
Closing prayer; Heavenly Father, We thank you for the freedom you have given to us, and for the price that was paid by Jesus Christ so that we could live free. We remember this weekend. We pray that all who read this lesson understand it, and what this weekend is really all about. We pray that Jesus and The Holy Spirit will help them. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
For those who wish to become a child of Our Heavenly Father or wish to be stronger in his eyes, please say the following prayer below.
Dear Heavenly Father, I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died for my sin and that you raised Him to life. I want to trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord, from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.”
