Raynette K. Weiss Ministries run by Rev. Raynette K. Weiss and Assistant Minister Jessie K. Weiss invite you to this Lesson about the biblical meaning of Candy canes. Wednesday, December 21, 2022.

Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

2 Corinthians 4:6For God, who said, Let light shine out of darkness, made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of Gods glory displayed in the face of Christ.

Luke 2: 5-72:5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child.

2:6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born,

2:7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them.

The red stripe on a candy can was to symbolize the blood of Christ when he was on the cross; so we could have a chance at eternal life. Jesus commanded to have candy canes handed out in church, or used as of form of identification as a christian. The candy cane is very important to everyone, but most people do not pay attention to it, unless it is Christmastime. The other times it is paid attention to is for decorating. Some candy canes are green and white. Green is used as a color to remember Jesus as a gift. It’s shape is that of a crook used by a sheopard while leading sheep and keeping them from running away. Sheopards were the first people to worship Jesus. The white in a candy cane means purity, and the color of a lamb.

Closing Prayer; Heavenly Father we pray that this Christmas season will be full of the love of Jesus. That much peace and joy will fill us up. Please give us the stregnth to be loving and forgiving. in Jesus name we pray. Amen.

those who wish to become a child of our Heavenly Father or wish to be stronger in his eyes, please say the following prayer below.

Heavenly Father: I recognize that I have not lived my life for You up until now. I have been living for myself and that is wrong. I need You in my life; I want You in my life. I acknowledge the completed work of Your Son Jesus Christ in giving His life for me on the cross at Calvary, and I long to receive the forgiveness you have made freely available to me through this sacrifice. Come into my life now, Lord. Take up residence in my heart and be my king, my Lord, and my Savior. From this day forward, I will no longer be controlled by sin, or the desire to please myself, but I will follow You all the days of my life. Those days are in Your hands. I ask this in Jesus’ precious and holy name. Amen.”
