Praise by Steve McEwen
Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise,
the city of our God, the holy place,
the joy of the whole Earth.
Great is the Lord in whom we have the victory,
he aids us against the enemy,
we bow down on our knees.
And Lord, we want to lift your name on high,
and Lord, we want to thank you,
for the works you’ve done in our lives;
and Lord, we trust in your unfailing love,
for you alone are God eternal,
throughout Earth and Heaven above.
Sermon;
Our Heavenly Father told Joshua to protect the people of Israel. Joshua was a servant of Our Heavenly Father along side Moses. The children of Israel were blessed with the land of Canaan. Two people that would sin a lot would always hide from the leader of Jericho. He asked them to look over the land and then report back to him any information that might prove useful.
Joshua headed one morning to the Jordan River and Our Heavenly Father made it so they could walk across it to get to the other side. They were on their way to the land of Shittim.
One day Our Heavenly Father let Joshua know to have certain members of tribes take stones out of the Jordan River. These were to let everyone know how much they are loved by Our Heavenly Father. Many people that live their lives for Our Heavenly Father make changes where negatives will turn into positives. Joshua was on a long trip. He landed in Jericho and was surprised to find a servant of Our Heavenly Father with something in his hand. Joshua was commanded to remove his shoes due to being on holy land. After the Israelites crossed the Jordan River into the promised land, the Lord instructed them to destroy the city of Jericho and everything in it. An Israelite named Achan took items from Jericho that were forbidden. As a result, the Israelites were defeated when they tried to destroy the city of Ai. As you can see the Lord takes care of all his people, and this whole story is a good example. it was the same back then as it is today.
Closing Hymn: The Children of Israel by Marcia Griffith;
Children of Israel we’ve got to survive
Children of Israel we’ve got to stay alive
Survival is the game
And its still the same in creation
Even amoung nations
None shall escape the judgement
Those persecutors of Israel
Right from the throne of Zion
To the rivers of Babylon
I walked the valley of darkness
And i will fear no evil
The hotter the battle the sweeter the victory
The hotter the battle the sweeter the victory
None shall escape the judgement
Those persecutors of Israel
Right from the throne of Zion to the rivers of Babylon
I walked the valley of darkness
And i will fear no evil
The hotter the battle the sweeter the victory
Children of Israel we’ve got to come together
Children of Israel lets try and make it better
Sorrows are joy to make a brighter tomorrow in creation
Cant walk the streets of division
None shall escape the judgement those persecutors of Israel
Right from the throne of Zion
To the rivers of Babylon
I walked the valley of darkness…
Closing Prayer; Heavenly Father we thank you for your grace and what you did for the children of Israel. We pray people get the idea of how much mercy and grace you have for them. We hope they come to you and become one of your children, and any that are your children become stronger in you. In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
Prayer of Salvation: Which is how you ask to become a child of Our Heavenly Father. Lord Jesus, I confess my sins and ask for your forgiveness. Please come into my heart as my Lord and Savior. Take complete control of my life and help me to walk in Your footsteps daily by the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me and I know you will answer my prayers. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
