Raynette K. Weiss Ministries run by Rev. Raynette K. Weiss and Assistant Minister Jessie K. Weiss invite you to this special lesson what the Moon and the stars means biblically to Our Heavenly Father.  Friday, August 5, 2022.

The moon in the Bible would be a symbol for the true people of God. The sun is the symbol of God Himself. The comparisons are: Comparison of God and the sun …

It is a piece of God-created beauty and a natural timekeeper.

“The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and terrible day of the Lord,” – Joel 2:31. “The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the great and notable day of the Lord.”

The phases of the moon symbolize immortality and eternity, enlightenment or the dar k side of Nature herself. It might reflect inner knowledge, or the phases of man’s condition on earth, since it controls the tides, the rains, the waters, and the seasons.

Psalms 89:37 – It shall be established for ever as the moon, and as a faithful witness in heaven. Selah.

Acts 2:20 – The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come:

Luke 21:25 – And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;

Joel 2:10 – The earth shall quake before them; the heavens shall tremble: the sun and the moon shall be dark, and the stars shall withdraw their shining:

There are another kind of stars on Earth—spiritual stars. These are the virtuous souls close to God who spread His kindly light in the world. Just as the stars in the sky appear at night, the spiritual stars lend their light to others when the latter are enveloped in the darkness of sorrow and suffering.

Stars have been symbolic of divine guidance and protection. The star of Bethlehem representing the guidance of god whilst the star of David is a powerful protection symbol.

Psalm 33:6 By the word of the Lord the heavens were made,

And by the breath of His mouth all their host.

Genesis 1:16 God made the two great lights, the greater light to govern the day, and the lesser light to govern the night; He made the stars also.

Psalm 147:4-5 He counts the number of the stars;

He gives names to all of them.

Great is our Lord and abundant in strength;

His understanding is infinite.

Revelation 6:13 and the stars of the sky fell to the earth, as a fig tree casts its unripe figs when shaken by a great wind.

Matthew 2:2 Where is He who has been born King of the Jews? For we saw His star in the east and have come to worship Him.

Closing Prayer; Heavenly Father we thank you for creating the moon and the stars. We pray that all who read this lesson understand the importance of the moon and stars to you, and that they are a symbol of your people and you use them to give great light in the darkness to guide the way. We pray that Jesus and the Holy Spirit will help them understand. We pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.

For those who wish to become a child of Our Heavenly Father or wish to be stronger in his eyes, please say the following prayer below.

Dear Heavenly Father, I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died for my sin and that you raised Him to life. I want to trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord, from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.”
