Opening Hymn; Jesus Christ has risen today by Charles Wesley;
Jesus Christ is risen today, Alleluia!Our triumphant holy day, Alleluia!Who did once, upon the cross, Alleluia!Suffer to redeem our loss, Alleluia!
Hymns of praise then let us sing, Alleluia!Unto Christ, our heavenly King, Alleluia!Who endured the cross and grave, Alleluia!Sinners to redeem and save, Alleluia!
But the pain which He endured, Alleluia!Our salvation hath procured, Alleluia!Now above the sky He’s king, Alleluia!Where the angels ever sing, Alleluia!
Sing we to our God above, Alleluia!Praise eternal as His love, Alleluia!Praise Him, all you heavenly host, Alleluia!Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, Alleluia!
Easter was the day that Jesus rose from the dead, around about 5 or 6am in the morning estimated. Mary his mother went to the tomb and found the stone removed from the front of it. An angel came and said that he has risen, was not here. All Mary could see was the clothes wrapped around him that he was buried in. A couple of hours later Jesus went to his mother. She went to hug him and he said, you cannot touch me, I have not gotten to my father yet. But go tell the others that you have seen me and that I have risen. She ran and did like he instructed after they talked a bit. This is what the meaning of Easter is really all about. Because of Jesus our sins have been washed away forever. However we must ask for forgiveness and repent when we sin. We were born in a sinful nature due to Adam. Sin could not come through women those days, only men. If Adam was not talked into eating the apple and did not, there would not be sin in the world today. But Adam loved Eve so much that he ate the apple. This is how sin came into the world. Before that there was no sin, we did not have to work, not do anything, just be with the Lord. He meant things to be a playground. He never wanted sin. He would also provide everything. If you are a child of The Lord today he will provide everything, either himself or though a vessel. Our Lord and savior is Jesus. He is the light to Our Heavenly Father. Easter is about all of this, not the commercial things that have been used. This is a time to praise The Lord. It is also a time to reflect on a past year and ask for forgiveness and repent of things you may not realize that happened, and he will forgive you. Praise him for all the things he has done for you. That is Easter, what today is all about.
Now we will talk about the Holy week. From Palm Sunday which we talked about last week, where Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey. Holy Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday was Jesus in Gesimine getting ready for Holy Thursday. Holy Thursday is when Jesus did his last sermons on earth and did the last supper. It is primarily the last supper that is important about Holy Thursday. Some bible scholars believed that Jesus was put to death on the cross at midnight that night. The reason why they believe it rather than Good Friday is because Friday, Saturday, and Sunday he rose between 5:30am and 6:00am, it is not clear when. Midnight technically is Friday. Just want to bring out that point. After that, Good Friday was about reflection and solemn feelings about Jesus being put to death, and the hope that Jesus would rise again on the 3rd day, and praising the Lord for everything he had done for them up to that point. Saturday is a day of reflection as well. Sunday of course is when he rose again, and our sins were forgiven at that point, but we still have to pray when we make a mistake and ask for forgiveness and repent to Our Heavenly Father. I cannot stress that point enough. As you become an adult you need to repent.
Closing Hymn; Holy Holy Holy by The Hymn Makers;
Stanza 1
HOLY, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty!
Early in the morning our song shall rise to thee;
Holy, holy, holy merciful and mighty,
God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!
Stanza 2
Holy, holy, holy; all the saints adore Thee,
casting down their golden crowns around the glassy sea;
cherubim and seraphim falling down before Thee,
which wert, and art, and evermore shalt be.
Stanza 3
Holy, holy, holy; though the darkness hide Thee,
Though the eye of sinful man Thy glory may not see,
Only Thou art holy; there is none beside thee,
Perfect in power, in love, and purity!,
Stanza 4
Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty!
All thy works shall praise Thy name in earth and sky and sea;
Holy, holy, holy, merciful and mighty,
God in three Persons, blessed Trinity!
Closing Prayer; Heavenly Father thank you for giving us your son and taking away our sins. We ask you to take away our sinful tendencies to become more like you, so we can live how you want us to live. We ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Benediction; Use part of your Easter to spend with The Lord and meditation and in prayer and reflect the past year in your lives. Ask him to remove anything not like him, and he will remove it. We ask that Jesus and The Holy Spirit help with this. We ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Have a very Happy Easter with your family and friends.
For those who wish to become a child of Our Heavenly Father or wish to be stronger in his eyes, please say the following prayer below.
Dear Heavenly Father, I know I’m a sinner, and I ask for your forgiveness. I believe Jesus Christ is Your Son. I believe that He died for my sin and that you raised Him to life. I want to trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as Lord, from this day forward. Guide my life and help me to do your will. I pray this in the name of Jesus. Amen.”
