Opening Hymn: No sweeter Name than Jesus by Kari Jobe
No sweeter name than the name of Jesus
No sweeter name have I ever known
No sweeter name than the name of Jesus
No sweeter name than the name of Jesus
No sweeter name have I ever known
No sweeter name than the name of Jesus
You are the life to my heart and my soul
You are the light to the darkness around me
You are the hope to the hopeless and broken
You are the only truth and the way
No sweeter name than the name of Jesus
No sweeter name have I ever known
No sweeter name than the name of Jesus
No sweeter name than the name of Jesus
No sweeter name have I ever known
No sweeter name than the name of Jesus
You are the life to my heart and my soul
You are the light to the darkness around me
You are the hope to the hopeless and broken
You are the only truth and the way
You are the life to my heart and my soul
You are the light to the darkness around me
You are the hope to the hopeless and broken
You are the only truth and the way, the truth and the way
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus
You are the life to my heart and my soul
You are the light to the darkness around me
You are the hope to the hopeless and broken
You are the only truth and the way.

Opening Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word and the wonderful lessons that it contains. Thank You that there is no one that is beyond Your grace.. and that salvation is available to all who will hear and receive the truth of the glorious gospel of grace. I pray that I may learn as Jesus did to listen to Your voice and be guided by the inner promptings of the Holy Spirit so that I will know when I must go through a certain place – to do your will for Your praise and glory, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.

Sermon for October 4, 2020:
In chapter 4 It discusses how Jesus turned water into wine and healed people and how he came to earth to save the world. He also led people to get baptized.
In chapter 5 it discusses the sabbath which is a day of rest for personal errands, and you have to get permission to do any healing, and legal things. It is on a Saturday. Sabbath means a day of religious observance and abstinence from work, kept by Jews from Friday evening to Saturday evening, and by most Christians on Sunday.
The homeless are given help with housing and the hungry are fed on this day. Jesus helps people walk; and it is stated that if you believe in the word and listen to it, you will have life eternal. God is the judge of man.
Chapter 6 goes over how if you listen to his word, believe, eat of the flesh and drink of the blood you will have life eternal, and will never hunger nor thirst. Jesus performed a miracle of feeding so many on very little food. He teaches not to fear even in storms. All good things come from God on the earth. Jesus will raise you up on the last day if you are close to him.
Chapter 7 mentions howJesus’s teachings came from our Heavenly Father. It is based on the laws of Moses in the beginning. It is mentioned that many people were given a law and did not keep it. No one can get to the father unless they believe in Jesus. Jesus would spread the word of his father though teachings in temples and even synagogues. Jesus being the bread of life and drink is also mentioned as it was in John Chapter 6.
Chapter 8 is about howJesus began to teach the rules of adultery in the temples. The way that sin was handled was by a verbal warning not to ever let it happen again. Jesus and the Heavenly Father both were judges together. They both strongly preached at how important it is to do what is pleasing in the Lord’s sight. It is also important to remember that the truth will set you free. If a sin is committed a person becomes a slave to the Father of lies, or Satan, unless the sin is repented after it is comitted. God is the Father of truth.
Chapter 9 Jesus was known as a healer of blindness and other illnesses and afflictions. Goes over where at one time people did not believe. They also thought Jesus was a sinner. Jesus came into the world to judge. He also helped encourage people to believe, and not turn to sin. If anyone seemed to be ungodly they would be cast out of God’s temple.

Closing Prayer: Thank You, Father, for lifting me out of the kingdom of darkness into Your glorious kingdom of light. May the light of Your love and grace shine in and through me, and may I be used by You as a reflection of the true Light that lights all those that come into the world. In Jesus’ name I pray, AMEN.
