Opening Hymn: Be like the tree by Integrity Kids
I’m gonna be like a tree, planted by the water
Trusting in the Father to keep me strong
I’m gonna be like a tree, planted by the water
Trusting in the name of the Lord
The deeper the roots grow
The better the fruits grow
The blessings bloom out for all to see
The deeper the roots grow
The more of my life shows
That Jesus is the Lord of me, Lord of me
.

Opening Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You that You came to seek and to save a lost sinner like me and for the amazing love and grace You have bestowed upon me. Thank You for forgiving my sins, for bringing salvation into my heart and for making it Your dwelling place. Keep me humble in heart, meek in spirit and submissive to Your Holy Spirit, and may I be used to Your greater glory in all I say and do today, in Jesus name I pray, AMEN.

Sermon For Sunday September 20, 2020. It is going over Chapters 19-24 of The book of Luke. This is the end of the book of Luke.

Jesus went into two cities; Jericho and Jerusalem and taught how to give to the poor. A rich man named Zechias learned from this too.
Jesus was teaching in the temple. There was a question at one point whether John the baptist was baptized on earth or heaven. There were open marriages, and if children were not produced the couple would die. God is over life and death.
Before the beginnings on earth there would be wars with other counties against each other. People would also be against one another as well.
There was a meeting in a big room where passover activities were being planned. A man named Judas Iscariot was going to be the one to betray Jesus. The last supper later took place and Jesus took bread. He then said this is my body broken for you. Again he did the same with a cup with wine and said this is my blood shed for you so that sins are forgiven. Do this as often as you will.
There was a trial for Jesus’s crucifixion. Many witnesses that attended saw no evidence of any crime committed by Jesus. This included a robber and a murderer named barabus. Pontious Pilate who was a Governor of Judea at one time did not even really see evidence of a crime. Peter later turned out to be the one that betrayed Jesus.
On the third day of Sunday Mary Magdalene went to check on Jesus’s body. She was going to utilize some spices. A guard that was standing watch said. If you are looking for Jesus he is not here. He has risen. She was then commanded to go into town and spread the news.
The most important points of this is that Jesus taught how to give to the poor. Peter turned out later to be the one that betrayed Jesus. He did this out of fear. This was to let people know that he knew Jesus. It is important to get the best understanding that we can get from these chapters, as well as the rest of the book of Luke.

Closing Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for Your Word and the wonderful truths that we read in its pages. Thank You that all the prophecies relating to Your first coming were fulfilled in every detail, and that by believing on the name of Christ, we have been forgiven of our sins and have received life eternal. Thank You for the witness of those two disciples on the road to Emmaus – and that even when doubts appear in our heart, You remain faithful to Your promises. Thank You that in Christ we have also a more-sure word of prophecy, that has been unveiled in the face of Jesus Christ – and thank You that every prophetic word relating to Christ’s second coming cannot fail, for Your Word is faithful and true – thank You in Jesus name we pray, AMEN.

Closing Hymn: Open our eyes by Gospel Clefs:
Father, open our eyes, that we
may see, to follow thee. Oh lord
grant us, thy lovin’ peace, and let
all dissension cease. Let our fait,
each day increase,
and Master – Lord please-
Open our eyes, open our eyes-
He has given us, hills and mountains, he
has given us, level places.
He has given us food and clothing,
given us shelter from the storm and the rain-
And all that he provided,
kept us shelter from the storm and the rain-
Grant us thy lovin’ peace,
and let all dissension cease,
let our faith each day increase,
and Master – Lord please
Open our eyes, open our eyes

Benediction: Now, go in peace, and spread the word about our Heavenly Father according to the book of Luke. We pray that our congregation will share this with thier family and friends and colleagues at work wherever they may be.
