Opening Hymn: Safe in the shadow of the lord by Timothy D. Smith.
1 Safe in the shadow of the Lord,
beneath his hand and power,
I trust in him,
I trust in him,
my fortress and my tower.
2 My hope is set on God alone,
though Satan spreads his snare,
I trust in him,
I trust in him,
to keep me in his care.
3 From fears and phantoms of the night,
from foes about my way,
I trust in him,
I trust in him,
by darkness as by day.
4 His holy angels keep my feet
secure from every stone;
I trust in him,
I trust in him,
and unafraid go on.
5 Strong in the everlasting Name,
and in my Father’s care,
I trust in him,
I trust in him,
who hears and answers prayer.
6 Safe in the shadow of the Lord,
possessed by love divine,
I trust in him,
I trust in him,
and meet his love with mine.
Opening Prayer: Heavenly father we pray that the words below get all the important points of this weeks study by all who read it. Also that the words are pleasing to your eyes. We ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Sermon Name: All the adventures that Paul the apostle had, and how God’s grace brought him through.
Paul thought he was doing wrong at one point, and was preaching things he should not have been preaching about. The Pharisees did believe in the resurrection and the seducee did not.
Paul was later put in prison for preaching the word of God. The lawyer did not want to help Paul because he wished for him to tell his own side of the story. Paul later told his side of the story to King Agrippa of Judea. It is important to always truthful tell your side of the story. Have good communication with each side.
Paul later was on a voyage to Rome on a ship, and the travel was rough. The people on the ship began to get very afraid. They were told not to be by many apostles traveling with them. The only thing that would happen is the ship would lose capability, there would be no loss of life. So they all prayed to God, and the prayer was answered and many got spared.
focuses on another one of Paul’s experiences. It begins with Paul and a ship’s crew being shipwrecked on the island of Malta.
Note; with all the above, can you see God’s grace? They prayed at one point for no loss of life on a voyage. God answered the prayer and there was no loss of life. An angel was sent to let Paul know this.
Closing Hymn: Rejoice, the Lord is King!Your Lord and King adore;Rejoice, give thanks, and sing,And triumph evermore;Lift up your heart, lift up your voice;Rejoice, again I say, rejoice!
Jesus, the Savior, reigns,The God of truth and love; When He had purged our stains He took His seat above;Lift up your heart, lift up your voice;Rejoice, again I say, rejoice!
His kingdom cannot fail,He rules o’er earth and Heav’n,The keys of death and hell Are to our Jesus giv’n;Lift up your heart, lift up your voice;Rejoice, again I say, rejoice!
Rejoice in glorious hope!Jesus the Judge shall come,And take His servants upTo their eternal home;We soon shall hear th’ archangel’s voice; The trump of God shall sound, rejoice!
