Rev.Raynette K. Weiss and Associate Pastor Jessie K. Weiss. We are two of Our Heavenly Father’s vessels. A lesson on All saints Day Saturday November 1, 2025.

All Saints’ Day originated from the early Christian practice of honoring martyrs, evolving into a feast to recognize all saints. It was moved to its current date of November 1 by Pope Gregory IV in the 9th century, following earlier observances on different dates like May 13th. Today, the feast honors both officially canonized saints and the countless unnamed faithful who have lived holy lives. Honoring all saints: All Saints’ Day is a solemn feast that commemorates all saints in heaven—those who are officially canonized and those who are known only to God. Inspiration for the faithful: The day serves as a reminder of the “great cloud of witnesses” and encourages believers to persevere in their own faith journeys. Cultural connections: The night before, Halloween, has its rootin ancient traditions of remembering the dead, and some of the customs have carried over and transformed in celebration of All Saints’ Day. Modern practices: Families may visit cemeteries to leave flowers and candles on the graves of their loved ones, honoring both their own family members and the larger community of saints.

Closing Prayer:
“Heavenly Father, You have given us the joy of honoring all Your saints. Through their prayers, strengthen us to follow their example of faith and love, so that we may one day share in their glory in Heaven.
