Rev.Raynette K. Weiss and Associate Pastor Jessie K. Weiss. We are two of Our Heavenly Father’s vessels. Hospitality in the end times. Wednesday September 17, 2025.

  • 1 Peter 4:9: “Show hospitality to one another without grumbling”.
  • Hebrews 13:2: “Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unaware”.
  • Romans 12:13: “Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality”

Christianity, hospitality is an essential biblical command and a core way of practicing faith, involving the loving welcome of strangers and community members into one’s home, heart, and life, regardless of their background. It is exemplified by Jesus, who welcomed and ate with marginalized people, and is described in the New Testament as the “love of strangers” (filoxenia). This practice extends beyond mere hosting to include selfless service, care for the needy, and embodying God’s own welcoming nature to all people. Old Testament Command: God commanded the Israelites to treat aliens among them with love, as they themselves had been aliens in Egypt (Leviticus 19:33-34).
Jesus as the Model: Jesus embodied hospitality by eating with sinners and tax collectors and even sending out his disciples to rely on the hospitality of others.
Qualification for Leaders: Hospitality is listed as a required qualification for pastors and elders in the church, demonstrating its importance for spiritual leadership.
Love for Strangers and Neighbors: It’s about embracing those who are outside your usual circle, including strangers, neighbors, and those in need.
Open Hands, Open Hearts, Open Doors”: True Christian hospitality means opening one’s heart, home, and resources to welcome others into the community. A Demonstration of Faith: It is an act of obedience and faith, trusting God to work through the act of hospitality, even when the outcome is uncertain.
Beyond a Perfect Scene: It’s not about having a perfect home or being a master host, but about genuine concern, investing in others, and making space for them in your life.
A Tangible Form of Love and Service: Hospitality is a practical way to show love, humility, and care for others, putting their needs before your own.

Closing Prayer:
Heavenly Father, open my heart, so that I will welcome others as You do… Help me to know the holiness that comes from acknowledging those I meet, from seeing others as eternal souls, and from sharing a place for them at my table”.

Our lord and savior we pray. Please

forgive me of my sins against you, please come into my heart. By the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for Saving me.
