Rev.  Raynette K. Weiss and Associate Pastor Jessie K.  Weiss. We are two of Our Heavenly Father’s vessels. How thanksgiving is an expression of faith and obedience. Tuesday November 25, 2025.

Thanksgiving is an expression of faith by acknowledging Our Heavenly Father’s sovereignty and provision, and it is an expression of thankfulness as a response to Our Heavenly Father’s goodness. It is rooted in the belief that blessings come from Our Heavenly Father, and it involves giving thanks for what has been received, as well as trusting in Our Heavenly Father for future blessings. Thanksgiving is also an act of worship, praise, and love toward Our Heavenly Father. Expressing thanks is a way of declaring faith that Our Heavenly Father is the source of all good things, including creation, salvation, and daily provisions. It is an act of faith to trust in Our Heavenly Father’s plan, even when it is not fully understood, and to acknowledge His love and kindness in all circumstances.Giving thanks is also a demonstration of faith in future blessings, a belief that Our Heavenly Father will continue to be faithful and provide. Continual thanksgiving keeps faith active and can be seen as a practice that connects you to Our Heavenly Father and reinforces a belief in His promises. Thanksgiving is the natural response to receiving something from someone else, which means acknowledging Our Heavenly Father’s blessings. The act of giving thanks is a form of praise that acknowledges Our Heavenly Father’s character, work, and the salvation provided through Jesus Christ. It is an expression of love and gratitude for Our Heavenly Father’s  presence, love, and sacrifices made on behalf of others.

The practice is encouraged throughout the Bible as a way to honor Our Heavenly Father and is a fundamental aspect of the Christian life. Ultimately, the act of giving thanks is evidence of a vital, personal relationship with Our Heavenly Father, allowing believers to acknowledge His presence and work in their lives, deepen their connection with Him, and inspire others.

Closing Prayer:

Heavenly Father, I pray for a deeper faith so my obedience comes from a place of love, not obligation. Please give me strength to follow Your will, even when I don’t understand, and help me to trust that You will fulfill Your promises. I confess my desire to obey You and ask for Your help to be obedient to Your voice, especially when I am tempted to go my own way.  In the name of Our Lord and savior I pray.

Our lord and savior we pray, please forgive me of my sins against you, please come into my heart. By the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me.
