Rev.  Raynette K. Weiss and Associate Pastor Jessie K. Weiss. We are two of Our Heavenly Father’s vessels.  Matthew chapter 25 1-18 American standard version with words defined that you may not understand. Thursday December 4, 2025.

25 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened(reprsented) unto(to) ten virgins, who took their [a]lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. And five of them were foolish, and five were wise. For the foolish, when they took their [b]lamps, took no oil with them: but the wise took oil in their vessels with their [c]lamps. Now while the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept. But at midnight there is a cry, Behold, the bridegroom! Come ye forth(come) to meet him. Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their [d]lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our [e]lamps are going out. But the wise answered, saying, Peradventure(surely) there will not be enough for us and you: go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. 10 And while they went away to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage feast: and the door was shut. 11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. 12 But he answered and said, Verily(in truth) I say unto you, I know you not. 13 Watch therefore, for ye know not the day nor the hour.

14 For it is as when a man, going into another country, called his own [f]servants, and delivered unto them his goods. 15 And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, to another one; to each according to his several ability; and he went on his journey. 16 Straightway he that received the five talents went and traded with them, and made other five talents. 17 In like manner he also that received the two gained other two. 18 But he that received the one went away and digged in the earth, and hid his lord’s money.

conveys the importance of spiritual readiness and faithful action in anticipation of Christ’s return through two parables: the Parable of the Ten Virgins and the Parable of the Talents. The first illustrates that believers must be prepared and vigilant, just as the wise virgins had oil for their lamps while the foolish ones did not. The second demonstrates that believers are entrusted with gifts and should use them productively, unlike the servant who buried his talent out of fear.

Closing Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the coming of Your Son, Jesus Christ, and we pray to be among the wise virgins who are ready for His return. Help us to live a life of faithfulness and preparation, keeping our spiritual lamps full of the oil of good works and constant vigilance, just as you have taught us. Grant us the grace to serve You faithfully and wisely in all that we do, so that when the bridegroom arrives, we may enter the wedding banquet with joy. In Jesus’ name.

Our lord and savior we pray, please forgive me of my sins against you, please come into my heart. By the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me.
