The Ten Words by Lauren Axelrod:

On tablets of stone, a voice so clear,

The Ten Words echo, holding fear

And hope, for those who walk in light,

And truth, that sets our spirits right.

First, no other gods before,

But He who’s Lord, forevermore.

No images, no earthly plea,

Only the one, eternally.

For sacred is the name we call,

Let it not be used by one and all,

In vain, in jest, or whispered low,

But with respect, and reverence, go.

Remember Sabbath, rest and peace,

Let earthly cares at last decrease.

Honour the parents, old and wise,

Whose love and care our hearts surmise.

No taking life, for life’s a gift,

But cherish it, with gentle lift.

No thoughts of ill, no harsh intent,

But kindness shown, and love sent.

No stealing, no desire’s hold,

But what’s own treasure, to be told.

No false words spoken, to deceive,

But honesty, we all believe.

No coveting, no envy’s sting,

But gratitude, for all life’s thing.

So walk with faith, and live in grace,

And find your peace, in time and space.

Closing Prayer: Heavenly Father I come in Jesus’ Name to thank You for the Ten Commandments in Your Word, the Bible, and for giving these instructions.

Our lord and savior we pray. Please forgive me of my sins against you, please come into my heart. By the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for Saving me.
