Rev.Raynette K. Weiss and Associate Pastor Jessie K. Weiss. We are two of Our Heavenly Father’s vessels. Revelation chapter 6 defined, words you may not understand.  Tuesday November 4. 2025.

I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, “Come!

Lamb-short for lamb of Our Heavenly Father.

I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest.

Conqueror- A person that rules a person, place, or people by use of military force. thing.  Conquest-the subjugation and assumption of control of a place.

3. When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second

living creature say,

Then another horse came out, a fiery red one.(The adversary) Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make people kill each other. To him was given a large sword.

When the Lamb opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, “Come!” I looked, and there before me was a black horse! Its rider was holding a pair of scales in his hand.

(Scales stand for Justice.)

Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures, saying, “Two pounds[a] of wheat for a day’s wages,[b] and six pounds[c] of barley for a day’s wages,[d] and do not damage the oil and the wine!” (The voice would be Our Heavenly Father).

When the Lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, “Come!”

I looked, and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following close behind him. They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword, famine and plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.

Famine-  A shortage of food.   Plagues- cause continual trouble or distress.  Hades- Hades in the ancient Greek religion and myth, is the god of the dead and the king of the underworld, with which his name became synonymous.

When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained.

10 They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until you judge the inhabitants of the earth and avenge our blood?”

Avenge- inflict harm in return for (an injury or wrong done to oneself or another).      Inhabitants-a person or animal that lives in or occupies a place.        Sovereign- a supreme ruler, especially a monarch.

11 Then each of them was given a white robe, and they were told to wait a little longer, until the full number of their fellow servants, their brothers and sisters,[e] were killed just as they had been.

Fellow servants-

A believer who serves God alongside other believers.1

12 I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red,

Sackcloth- a very coarse, rough fabric woven from flax or hemp.

13 and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind.

14 The heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place.

Receded-go or move back or further away from a previous position.      scroll-

a roll of parchment or paper for writing or painting on.

15 Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and everyone else, both slave and free, hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains.

Mighty- possessing great and impressive power or strength, especially on account of size.        slave- a person who is forced to work for and obey another and is considered to be their property

16 They called to the mountains and the rocks, “Fall on us and hide us[f] from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb.

Wrath-extreme anger.

17 For the great day of their[g] wrath has come, and who can withstand it?”

withstand-remain undamaged or unaffected by; resist.

Chapter 6-Emphasizes that despite the chaos and suffering, these events are initiated by the Lamb and are within God’s ultimate control, serving a divine purpose. It also serves as a warning about the consequences of sin and a reminder of the temporary nature of life on Earth. It calls for reevaluation of priorities, urging a commitment to righteous living, fervent prayer, and steadfast faith in the face of tribulation.

Closing Prayer: Heavenly Father, as we read about the unfolding of Your plans in Revelation 6, we pray for mercy on a lost world facing judgment. We ask that You would give wisdom to the fearful and courage to the faithful. Help us not to be misled by false teaching, but to rely on Your Word and live with the hope of Your promised return.

Salvation or Sinners prayer

Our lord and savior we pray, please forgive me of my sins against you, please come into my heart. By the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for Saving me.
