Rev. Raynette K. Weiss and Associate Pastor Jessie K. Weiss. We are two of Our Heavenly Father’s vessels. The power of chirstian love. Thursday May 15, 2025.

Proverbs 17:17.

A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. NIV A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity. NASB A friend loves at all times, And a brother is born for adversity.

Ephesians 4:32 calls believers to be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other just as God in Christ has forgiven them. It emphasizes the importance of forgiveness, compassion, and kindness, mirroring God’s grace and forgiveness extended to them.

John 15:13, which states “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends,” means that the greatest form of love is to sacrifice oneself for the sake of others, especially one’s friends or loved ones. Jesus used this verse to exemplify his own selfless love for his disciples and all humanity.

Lesson:

Christian love; It’s a love that extends beyond emotions and focuses on the decision to love unconditionally, without expecting anything in return. This love is also thought to be a work of the Holy Spirit, going beyond human capacity and uniting believers in a profound spiritual bond. Christian love is often associated with the Greek word “agape,” which signifies a divine, unconditional love. Christian love is not just a feeling, but it is expressed through actions and deeds. Christian love is inspired by Jesus’ love and teachings, which call for humility, service, and  forgiveness. Christian love is a powerful force that transforms lives, fosters community, and reflects the love of God in a tangible way. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lays down his life for his friends” (John 15:13). And “if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another” (1 John 4:11). In other words, true love is always sacrificial, self-giving, merciful, compassionate, sympathetic, kind, generous, and patient. Christian love is the overflow of joy in God that meets the needs of others, and that joy is a blood-bought joy from the death of Jesus.

Christian love is not a feeling; although strong feelings can be involved, but rather a lifestyle.

Closing Prayer: Heavenly Father I thank you that there is no human experience that I might walk through where your love cannot reach me. If I climb the highest mountain you are there and yet if I find myself in the darkest valley of my life, you are there. Teach me today to love you more.

Our lord and savior we pray. Please forgive me of my sins against you, please come into my heart. By the power of the Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for Saving me.
