Opening Hymn: Like a river glorious by hymnial.net/

Like a river, glorious

  Is God’s perfect peace,

Over all victorious

  In its bright increase;

Perfect, yet it floweth

  Fuller every day,

Perfect, yet it groweth

  Deeper all the way. Stayed upon Christ Jesus,

Hearts are fully blest;

Finding, as He promised,

  Perfect peace and rest.

2

Hidden in the hollow

  Of His blessed hand,

Never foe can follow,

  Never traitor stand;

Not a surge of worry,

  Not a shade of care,

Not a blast of hurry

  Touch the spirit there.

3

Every joy or trial

  Falleth from above,

Traced upon our dial

  By the Sun of Love.

We may trust Him fully

  All for us to do;

Sermon:

Living in the spirit involves making  Our Heavenly Father the center of your life and being drawn to Jesus by the Spirit, honoring Him in all you do, Not grieving or quenching the Spirit through sin, selfish ambition, or neglecting Our Heavenly Father’s Word, but instead staying in communion with Him.Faith over works means understanding that salvation and worth come from God’s grace through Christ’s finished work, not your own efforts, but this living faith naturally leads to good works as its natural expression, like fruit from a healthy tree, as seen in Scripture like Ephesians 2:8-10,. To live this out, you focus on God’s truth, pray trusting prayers, serve from a place of rest in Christ’s sufficiency, and see works as a response to grace, not a way to earn approval, recognizing that true faith is holistic, involving your whole being

When facing these truths and promises to keep your perspective clear and trust-filled.  Faith leads, and works follow as a natural expression of that empowered belief, demonstrating that your life is lived from a place of security in Christ, not striving for it.

When you exercise faith in your Heavenly Father, He acts not just as a distant creator but as a deeply involved and loving parent. In 2026, spiritual guidance emphasizes that this relationship activates profound shifts in your life, identity, and future.

Our Heavenly Father looks for a willing and responsive heart, not perfect execution.This is the reason for the ongoing pursuit and a heart that chooses to follow, which is a process of divine alignment and transformation, not instant perfection.

Biblically, days of the week were generally numbered (e.g., “the first day”) rather than named. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday hold distinct meanings based on the Creation narrative and the life of Jesus.

Studies link Sabbath-keeping to better mental health, reduced stress, improved self-care, and stronger relationships, emphasizing “detachment” from work. Seen as a way to counter consumerism, develop spirituality, and promote overall well-being for individuals and communities. Modern life presents barriers like high demands and work schedules, but practices and philosophies around Sabbath rest continue to evolve.

Studying the Sabbath involves exploring its biblical roots in creation and the Ten Commandments as a day of rest and worship, its significance in Judaism (Shabbat) as a weekly delight and remembrance of Our Heavenly Father, its observance in Christianity (often Sunday, celebrating resurrection, or Saturday, as Sabbatarian groups), and its historical evolution from a monthly lunar observance to a weekly cycle, highlighting themes of holiness, covenant, and well-being.

Closing Hymn: Spirit of the living God fall afresh on me by Donald Iverson:

Spirit of the Living God,

Fall afresh on me,

Spirit of the Living God,

Fall afresh on me.

Break me, melt me, mold me, fill me.

Spirit of the Living God,

Fall afresh on me.

Closing Prayer: Heavenly Father, on this day of rest, I pray for spiritual rejuvenation. Thank You for Your grace and mercy. As I prepare for the week ahead, help me to receive Your Word, to feel Your presence, and to leave refreshed. Fill me with Your peace and purpose, so I can serve You wholeheartedly and return to my routines with renewed strength and joy. In Jesus’ Name.

Our lord and savior we pray, please forgive me of my sins

against you, please come into my heart. By the power of the against you, please come into my heart. By the power of the

Holy Spirit. Thank you Lord for saving me.
